Changes are coming! And big ones at that. Disney World recently announced some HUGE changes to their skip-the-line service, and we have all the details.
Lightning Lane changes are coming!
Just when we felt like we might have been getting the hang of Genie+, Disney World goes and changes things up again. While there are a few similarities to the current Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane services, the new Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass are also introducing a lot of changes.
Everyone remain calm and try not to panic! We just got a HUGE announcement about the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays!

You know we are a fan of the EPCOT festivals here at DFB, and slightly freaking out over here as we just found out the dates for this year’s Festival of the Holidays event!
Disney likes to keep us on our toes regarding announcements for both the theme parks and entertainment. However, there is a special event coming up that almost always means we will be getting some exciting announcements about Disney’s future plans.
D23 Media Event
We never know what sort of plans Disney might announce during this event, but there are always a few things we are hoping to hear more about! And we are hoping for a very specific announcement this summer.
Okay, Disney, alright, already. We’ve been getting all these updates about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disney World…but we’re still reeling after a BIG announcement was possibly leaked EARLY.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is the BIG new attraction opening SOON in Magic Kingdom. We’ve seen some of the INCREDIBLE animatronics that will be featured on the ride. We’ve even seen Imagineers testing the ride. But up until now, all we’ve known is that the ride is opening in summer 2024. Well, summer is here, and we think Disney could be revealing big news about the ride TONIGHT, May 12th.
Disney’s largest fan event is heading to BRAZIL.
We can’t WAIT!
Since its launch in 2009, the event formerly known as the D23 Expo and currently as D23: The Ultimate Fan Event has become one of the most important on Disney’s calendar. The gathering has essentially become Disney’s own personal version of San Diego Comic Con with thousands of fans descending to attend panels on everything from new theme park announcements, upcoming feature films, and even celebrating the company’s iconic Disney Legends. While the main D23 event happens in Anaheim every other year, there are also Destination-D events at Walt Disney World, and there have been several in Japan. Now, D23 is expanding to another nation outside the U.S.
One of Disney’s World’s oldest hotels is scheduled for a gas outage this week that will affect anyone staying on property.
Shades of Green Hotel
The resort currently known as Shades of Green first opened as the Disney Golf Resort in 1973, catered mainly to those playing on Walt Disney World’s Palm and Magnolia golf courses. The resort’s name was changed to the Disney Inn and it was retimed to Snow White in 1986 in an attempt to raise occupancy rates and appeal to those beyond golfers. In the mid-1990s, the hotel was purchased by the U.S. Department of Defense for use by the military’s Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) program. Reopened as Shades of Green, it provides discounted prices for rooms and theme park tickets for military personnel of all ranks, as well as their families and guests.

Just when you think Avengers Campus can’t get any better– it does!

Avengers Campus at Disney’s California Adventure is FULL of immersive theming, delicious food (we’re looking at you, Shawarma), and character meet and greets that we used to only dream about. Disney has brought many of our beloved Marvel Cinematic Universe characters to life– from Spider-Man to Dora Milaje, there is always someone new and interesting to meet! Disney has announced a NEW character that we’ll be seeing in Avengers Campus!
Disney World Resort hotels have been getting quite the makeover recently!

Disney’s Contemporary Resort rooms were rethemed to Pixar’s The Incredibles, Disney’s Polynesian Resort upgraded their rooms to Moana (and we can’t forget to mention their current villa expansion that’s underway), and Disney’s Grand Floridian recently opened their new Disney Vacation Club villas. Seriously — these hotels are getting some TLC. And it looks like they’re not alone, as another Disney World Resort hotel is about to get rethemed too!
