We saw lots of Thanksgiving crowds this week this week and Festival of the Holidays debuted in EPCOT too. And of course, there was also some exciting and VERY surprising news! Take a look.
Disney World Annual Pass sales were suspended when the parks closed back in March of 2020.
Ever since then, frequent Disney-goers have been waiting for Annual Passes to resume sales, and we now know that it’s this month! However, there have been some MAJOR changes, and we’re not gonna lie, it can be really confusing! NOTE: The only Annual Pass available at the moment is the Pixie Dust Pass. All other passes have had their sales paused for the time being.
Last year, Disney World announced a new Annual Passholder Program.
Previously, Annual Passes had not been on sale since March of 2020, but this new program returned in September of 2021, and it brought with it a lot of changes! There are now only 4 Annual Pass options, they have new names, there are different perks, and more. We know this newer system is a little confusing, so we want to answer some of your most common questions!
Today Disney announced the return of annual passes, sharing that they’d once again be available to purchase on September 8th!
With this announcement, Disney also revamped the annual pass program, now offering four different pass options (some of which are exclusive to Florida Residents and DVC Members). We got more details on the passes, including pricing and perks, plus one important detail that you shouldn’t miss!
After Disneyland released all the details about its new Magic Key program, it was only a matter of time before Disney World detailed their new Annual Pass system as well!
And today is the day. We now have TONS of new information on Disney World’s new Annual Pass program. Starting September 8th, Annual Passes will now come in four different tiers that have various pricing and blockout dates. Disney World just announced their NEW Annual Pass Program!
YEP! Annual passes are officially coming back for the first time since the shutdowns in March of 2020 — but there are some changes to the program! There are now only 4 passes being offered, and 3 of them are only for Florida residents. The passes go on sale on September 8th, and we have news about upgrading current theme park tickets into an Annual Pass!
Disney World Annual Passes have been M.I.A. for a while now, but they are officially returning this September!
Even though Annual Passes are returning, they will look pretty different from before with brand new tiers and names (similar to the new Magic Key system at Disneyland). We’ve got a look at pricing and what the new pass options offer, so let’s see how it compares to the previous Annual Pass system!
Except in very limited cases, new Disney World Annual Passes have NOT been sold since the parks closed last March.
We think there are several reasons why Annual Passes might not have been sold for a while, including Disney World possibly wanting to manage the percentage of Passholders visiting. Not too long ago, a glitch made us think Annual Passes were available to be purchased, but Stitch ate the page (we’re all too familiar with that sight) and we couldn’t complete the purchase. But now things are CHANGING — soon you can buy Disney World Annual Passes once again!
It may be hard to believe, but it has been a FULL year since the Disney World theme parks reopened following its four-month-long closure in 2020 [when this post was originally published]. It’s a unique anniversary many of us wouldn’t have predicted being faced with just a few years ago, but here we are!
Since then, a lot has changed — health and safety policies have been updated drastically to make face masks optional for most guests and Cast Members in many locations, and most social distancing measurements have also been lifted. For all of the things that HAVE returned to Disney World since the parks reopened, there are also a number of things that have STILL not come back.
Annual Pass sales aren’t looking the way they used to, as Disney World has halted the program and Disneyland is in the midst of making a replacement version.
But, one park is reinstating its Annual Passholder program next week.
