During Iger’s first term as CEO at Disney, he made some big acquisitions of other companies, like Marvel, Pixar, and Lucasfilm. But might it be time for Iger’s legacy to be a different one — not of buying other companies, but of selling the one he’s in charge of? It’s possible and perhaps inevitable, according to one analyst.

The rumor that Apple would buy Disney has been around for quite some time.

Bob Iger and Steve Jobs were close, and ever since Disney bought Pixar in 2006, people have been speculating that a merger with Apple could happen. While Iger has said that this is “nothing more than speculation,” we can’t help but wonder what would happen if the two companies did seal the deal.
Lately, Disney has been wowing us with some futuristic developments.

We’ve seen a GIANT Hulk meeting guests in Disney parks, talked to a real-life Tinkerbell in a tiny lantern, and have even seen a life-like robotic rabbit rollerblading on stage at SXSW. But soon, a new product will allow Disney fans to bring some of that futuristic magic into their own homes.

Bob Iger served as CEO for many years before stepping aside suddenly and selecting Bob Chapek as his successor. Chapek’s run at Disney, however, was short-lived. After finding himself in the middle of a number of battles and controversies (from the handling of the Parental Rights in Education Act in Florida to contract disputes with Scarlett Johansson), Chapek was swiftly removed from his position and replaced once again with Iger. But just who is Iger looking to for inspiration now that he’s back? Well, if you are an Iger expert, the answer might not surprise you.

After the disappointing results reported during the Q4 earnings call, Disney announced on November 20th that CEO Bob Chapek would be stepping down, only to be replaced by former CEO Bob Iger. This left many with quite a few questions, including whether Iger would maintain changes previously introduced by Bob Chapek, such as a company hiring freeze. Now, we have some answers!
