Hey, DFB Friends! In case you missed the big news, Disney World’s Blizzard Beach reopened today after about a year of being closed!
FOOOOOOOOODDDD!
We were there LIVE, checking out some of the fun water slides, relaxing on a tube while floating down a lazy river, checking out the refillable beverage situation (it’s different here than we’ve seen in the parks), and munching on some water park food!
Blizzard Beach has officially reopened!
Blizzard Beach
It is the first water park to reopen at Disney World and is operating under a variety of health and safety guidelines, much like the theme parks. This includes reduced capacity, temperature screenings, physical distancing markings, and face coverings. The face mask policy is a little different than we’ve experienced in the parks, so we headed over to experience it for ourselves!
It’s been almost an ENTIRE YEAR since Walt Disney World initially shut down due to the global health crisis, and though the resort’s four theme parks reopened back in July, the two water parks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon, have remained closed.

That all changes TODAY! It’s March 7th, which means Blizzard Beach has OFFICIALLY reopened!
The day for Blizzard Beach to FINALLY reopen at Disney World is almost here, and by the looks of the forecast, the water park could live up to its name!

March 7th marks the official return of Blizzard Beach, and with projected temperatures in the 50s and low 60s, things could get pretty chilly.
Even though we were convinced that 2020 would last forever, we’re now three months into 2021!

This year has been pretty eventful in Disney World so far, with several policy changes, lots of construction, and plenty of new offerings. We love that in the morning we can have Dole Whip for breakfast and then head over to EPCOT to enjoy the Festival of the Arts in the afternoon. In fact, we park hop so much nowadays that we even broke down what we love and hate about its return to Disney for you! While being able to go from park-to-park in one day again has been fun, there was still a ticket option that was missing and will FINALLY be making its return to Disney World next month!

In September, Disney announced that one of its two water parks would reopen in March 2021, and eventually, it was revealed that Blizzard Beach would reopen on March 7th.
