Just as was the case with the TRON Lightcycle / Run attraction in Magic Kingdom, Cast Members will be among the first to experience this new Moana-themed attraction. But just when will Cast Members need to sign up? We’ve got some details!
Did you know that Disney World character attendants are called “Blueberries”? Every time you meet a character in Disney World, whether it’s the big cheese himself, Mickey Mouse, or a Disney princess, there’s going to be a Character Attendant Cast Member nearby. They wear blue polo tops and khaki pants, hence the name “Blueberry.” (Admittedly, the outfits aren’t nearly as cool as the polka dot dresses or sombreros that Minnie and pals get to wear, but that’s another story for another day)
It’s a JOY to work in Disney World!
Basically, Character Attendants are like the sidekicks to all your favorite characters. Mickey needs a pen to sign his autograph? Ask a Blueberry! Need someone to snap a photo? Ask a Blueberry! Want to know when Goofy will be back from his phone call with his son Max? Ask a Blueberry! You get the idea. Now that we’ve got the introductions out of the way, let’s discuss five things a Disney World Blueberry wants you to know.

Magic Kingdom
The good news is, the Cast Members do a great job of hiding the not-so-magical things from us Disney World visitors. It’s showbiz, baby! So, the Cast Members have a super cool secret code language to communicate with each other so that they can talk about happenings in the area without attracting unwanted attention or chaos. We have several former Cast Members on the team, and we all have some Cast Member besties in our life, so we love to talk about all the code words that are used in the parks. In the past, we’ve talked about Code Vs, Code 101s, and even Code As. Today, we have another code word to share!
While Disney World is a dream most of the time, things do go awry at times. Sometimes, things can get downright creepy.
Haunted Mansion
When things don’t go according to plan at Disney World, the Cast Members need a way to communicate with each other without disturbing or frightening guests. That’s where a sort of “code language” comes in! Yep, the Cast Members at Disney World have code words and a secret language for all sorts of things, from how to discreetly communicate that someone has vomited to what they say in order to keep chaos at a minimum if an ambulance is called. Cinderella Castle
In the last few years, Disney has made some major decisions — and they haven’t all been popular. From introducing a paid version of FastPass to requiring Park Pass Reservations to get into the parks, many Disney guests have had some gripes. It’s time to bust out all eight thousand salad plates, Queen Anna — a royal coronation calls for the fanciest of chocolate and the nicest gowns, don’t you think? Of course, we’re not talking about an Arendelle coronation; we’re talking about the coronation of Charles III and his wife, Camilla, who have been officially crowned king and queen of the United Kingdom.

For the past 18 months, Disney World’s Cast Members have donned the iconic 50th Anniversary name tags.
50th Anniversary Name Tag
These name tags were the first of their kind and just a bit more glitzy than the traditional Cast Member name tags with the iridescent lettering and 50th Anniversary logo. But the 50th Anniversary is now over, and Disney World’s Cast Members are still rocking those name tags. So that means that now it’s time for a change!
There are few with a resume as impressive as Burny Mattinson, a Disney Legend with dozens of film credits under his belt both old and new.

It is with sadness that we report the Disney Legend, who holds the title of longest-serving Cast Member in Walt Disney Company History, has passed away at the age of 87.

Toontown Car
The 100th anniversary celebrations have kicked off with fun merchandise, festive eats, and new nighttime shows. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway also had its grand opening recently before Toontown reopens in March! Mickey’s Toontown just delayed its opening, but we’ve got an exciting update about the land!
BIG changes are coming to Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom soon!
With the TRON: Lightcycle / Run opening date quickly approaching, Cast Members are making sure Tomorrowland is in tip-top shape before guests flock to check out the new attraction this April.
