New Poll Reveals How People REALLY Feel About the Disney-DeSantis Battle

You know that feeling when you’re listening to a song you don’t really love and it feels like it’ll never end? Or when you’re on a road trip, you’re OVER being stuck in the car for hours, and it just feels like you’ll NEVER get to your destination. By now, that’s the feeling some might have when it comes to the battle between Governor Ron DeSantis and Disney.

The battle has been dragging on since Disney made its statement against the Parental Rights in Education Bill and eventually escalated to major changes in Disney World’s district. Lately, the updates have included a federal lawsuit filed by Disney, a state court lawsuit filed by the new Board of Supervisors for the District, bills signed into law by DeSantis that impact Disney agreements and the inspection of Disney’s monorail, and more. But are Americans done with the feud? They might be.

NEWS: Gov. DeSantis Signs Bill to VOID Disney’s Reedy Creek Agreements

The battle between Governor Ron DeSantis (FL) and Disney just got more complex thanks to the signing of a particular bill.

For context, Disney had entered into some agreements with the old board of the Reedy Creek Improvement District (now called the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District) prior to the new board taking over. According to the new board, the agreements at issue reportedly “strip” them of much of their power. The new board has already declared the agreements invalid for a few reasons, which is part of what sparked Disney to sue DeSantis and the new board, and the new board has since filed a lawsuit of its own against Disney. But now the agreements have been addressed by something else.

Gov. Ron DeSantis Comments on New Reedy Creek Board’s Choice to Sue Disney

The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District Board (formerly the Reedy Creek Improvement District) held a meeting on April 26th, 2023, where they declared that agreements previously entered into by Disney and the former Reedy Creek Board were void.

This was apparently the final straw for Disney, who was primed and ready to file a federal lawsuit. The company has alleged that DeSantis has waged a “relentless campaign to weaponize government power” over them. And then, in a meeting on May 1st, the new District Board voted to sue Disney in state court — which was apparently news to the Florida governor.
