Lately, the weather in Florida has been WEIRD. The typical chilly weather we see up north made its way to Disney World this past winter, and the rainy May showers are starting in March! Between the unpredictable crowds and the weather, even us seasoned Disney professionals can’t figure out what’s up.

Dedicated Disney planners can make dining reservations 60 days in advance, savvy money-savers can look for discounts to apply to their room reservations, and some guests like to control their spending in the parks by using Disney gift cards! But (sadly) we can’t control the weather in Disney World, and last we checked, Disney doesn’t have any plans to build a weather bubble around the parks — darn!

We’re Back to Chilly Weather in Disney World This February!

Disney World has been all out of sorts lately! Most of us visit Disney World in the wintertime expecting to ESCAPE cold weather! Let’s face it, the novelty of snow wears off pretty quickly, and lots of people flock to Florida in January and February to avoid chilly weather! Lately, though, it’s been pretty cold in Disney World — and more crowded than usual for this time of year, too!

We know exactly what you’re thinking: “Oh, please! Florida is WAY warmer than most parts of the U.S. right now!” You’re probably right. Florida is just about as south as you can get while still being in America. BUT, despite what many people may expect, it’s been pretty cold in Disney World lately! Typhoon Lagoon, Disney’s water park, has been closed due to the weather. Some guests are even walking around with BLANKETS wrapped around their bodies!

Even FLORIDA can be chilly?!

So yes, while Florida is comparatively warmer than, say, Michigan, right now, we’re still shivering in Disney World!
