Well, folks, all of the Disney World theme parks have been open for around a week now.

It’s officially Food and Wine time in Disney World now that EPCOT has reopened!

And even though the Eat to the Beat concert series has been canceled this year, you can still munch to some music during the Taste of EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival in 2020.
Since Disney World began its phased reopening after the unprecedented closures in 2020, we’ve added some NEW tips to our list of things to keep in mind when you travel!

We visit the parks, hotels, and Disney Springs on a daily basis to get a feel for the changes that continue to happen on a near-constant rate — even 2 years later. And, with all of the things that have come, and gone, and then come back again at Disney we have some NEW tips for your vacation!
WOW! We’ve been back inside Magic Kingdom for the first time since it closed its gates in mid-March! The experience was VERY different than what we’re used to when it comes to visiting a Disney World theme park!

Keep in mind that while our first experience back was a Cast Member preview day with very limited crowds, one of if not THE most noticeable differences we experienced was the impact on crowds from the limited capacity. In order to accommodate physical distancing and to keep crowds at bay, Disney has drastically reduced their capacity and controls the number of people in the parks via their new Disney Park Pass Reservation System. Yesterday we had our first experience watching Disney World’s new Character Cavalcades roll by at Magic Kingdom!

Instead of character greetings, parades, and fireworks shows (which have been temporarily put on hold), guests can enjoy these smaller processionals which are featured randomly throughout the day. That way, folks will still have the opportunity to interact and snap of few pics of their favorite Disney friends — but from afar!
We’ll be honest, there were a few modifications we were already a feeling a little apprehensive about before we arrived at Magic Kingdom yesterday.

One of the biggest changes we were having a hard time wrapping our heads around was the new Character Cavalcades at Disney World. A while ago, Disney told us they would be replacing their standard entertainment offerings with these unscheduled performances since character meet and greets, parades, and firework shows will be returning at a later time.
When Walt Disney World announced that the theme parks would be reopening, they also shared that select experiences such as fireworks, parades, and character meet and greets would be temporarily suspended.

Although Disney has put these experiences on hold, for now, they told us that guests would STILL be able to see some of their favorite characters in new and exciting ways! TODAY, during Cast Member previews at Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we got to see some of these new entertainment offerings for the first time EVER!

Since Disney announced that many of our favorite entertainment options would be unavailable (shows, parades, and character meet and greets) we’ve been wondering how we’ll interact with characters and performers in the reopened parks. Yesterday, we learned that characters will be VERY present in the reopened parks, and today, we’ve got even MORE info!
