Character meet and greets are BACK, baby!

Okay, maybe they’ve been back for a while, but April 18, 2022 marked the first day that TRADITIONAL character meet and greets have returned — without the social distancing. You can get back to the hugs, high fives, and autographs with your Disney pals. But which meet and greets are back and which are still missing? Let’s take a look at the COMPLETE list of traditional character meet and greets in Disney World.
It’s a BIG day for Disney World — character meet and greets are returning to normal!
We finally got to hug Mickey!
That’s right, at many locations around the theme parks, you can now hug your favorite Disney pals again! This also means that it’s time to whip out those autograph books and pens once again. And in honor of the special occasion, we spotted some new (and returning) merchandise!
No one can put a smile on our face quite like the Disney characters. Walking into Disney’s Animal Kingdom to be greeted by Kevin reminds us just how FUN it is to make new friends, and chatting with Princess Snow White in EPCOT always cheers us up. Whether it’s your first visit to the parks or your 100th trip to the Magic Kingdom, every character interaction is a little different, and that’s what makes it so much fun!
We’ve got some EXCITING news!
As the parks slowly start to bring back more dining, shows, and other experiences, some of Disney’s previous restrictions have been lifted. Today, we’re excited to welcome a beloved experience back to Disney World. Let’s take a look! (Warning: if you tend to cry at the beginning of Up or tear up during the fireworks, you might want to grab some tissues…this is about to get emotional)

Soon, we’ll be able to hug Mickey Mouse in Disneyland again! Beginning April 18th, Disney will begin bringing back traditional character meet-and-greets in Disneyland Park. It’s been almost 2 years since we’ve hugged our pal Mickey, and we could not be more excited. These close-up meet and greets are also returning to Disney World at the same time, but we just found out that there will be one BIG difference between the two parks when the traditional meet-and-greets return. You can get really busy with rides, food, shopping, and entertainment when you’re in Disney World, but you shouldn’t miss out on meeting characters while you’re in the parks!

Character meet and greets have been back in a modified way for a while, and soon, they’ll be going back to how they were before the shutdowns in 2020. This means you’ll be able to hug Mickey again and get autographs from Pluto! You’ll also be able to stand next to characters for photos, so you’ll probably want to grab some good pics, and we’re here to help you out when it comes to planning!
It seems like operations are almost fully back to normal in Disney World, as dining options and entertainment offerings are slowly but surely coming back to the parks.
