Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebrations ended in March 2023, but some things stuck around.
50th Anniversary Cinderella Castle
The 50th Anniversary merchandise hasn’t disappeared overnight from the parks, and there are still a few items scattered throughout the gift shops. Some of the more popular snacks from the celebration have remained on menus in the parks, just renamed. But there’s one very obvious anniversary offering that’s still available…and now we know why!

The MagicBand+ will do so much more than just get you into a Disney Park! Walt Disney World has been celebrating its 50th anniversary is spectacular fashion, with a full castle makeover, a ton of new food, and new entertainment.

One of our favorite things that’s been added for the celebrations are the golden 50th character statues across all 4 parks. And, Disney has made it possible for you to take these statues home with you (kind of)! We’ve seen ornament sets of the statues and mini figures available in mystery sets, but now, there are even bigger versions of the statues available!

And, the celebrations are going strong! We’ve enjoyed a new cavalcade, seen new fireworks, and dined at new restaurants. We have also tried over 100(!!!) 50th anniversary treats around Disney World and seen a TON of special merchandise. But, the fun has only just begun, because this is an 18-month celebration. Even if you can’t make it to Disney any time soon to participate, you can still order some 50th goodies online! And, some new 50th items just dropped on shopDisney that are perfect for the holidays.

Magic Kingdom is preparing for its 50th Anniversary!
New fireworks shows, new costumes for Mickey and the gang, a new ride, and new restaurants, plus SO MUCH MORE! And some of these celebrations aren’t even waiting until the 50th to start — a few of them arrived at the parks a little early.
Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration will be an event unlike anything we’ve seen in quite some time! This eighteen-month-long birthday party is full of new entertainment offerings, firework spectaculars, dazzling golden statues, and of course, special edition merchandise to collect.

Cinderella Castle
We’ve seen the parks getting ready for the big celebration by adding special new decorations like banners, signs, and a stage. Cinderella Castle also got a makeover and is ready for her birthday! 50 golden character statues are being added around the parks, too. We’ve seen statues pop up at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Animal Kingdom, and now, Hollywood Studios is joining in on the fun, and we think they’re the perfect place for park photos!
There are 50 golden character statues coming to Disney World as part of the 50th Anniversary Celebration that starts on October 1st, 2021.
EARidescent Gold Statues
We’ve seen lots of them around Magic Kingdom, including classic characters like Mickey and Minnie Mouse and some really fun statues of Stitch and Orange Bird. They appeared this morning in EPCOT as well, with some of the most detailed statues we’ve seen so far. And now more of them have arrived — this time in Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
