Admit it, you’ve got an Ugly Christmas Sweater in your closet, or you love dressing your family in matching holiday pajamas. If this is you, then head over to Disney Springs where you will be rewarded for your love of all things ugly or matching this holiday season!
This season a few Disney Springs locations are celebrating these two holiday trends with special offers, events, and free desserts!
Last summer, Chef Art Smith opened Homecoming Florida Kitchen and Southern Shine in Disney Springs — and it quickly became one of our new favorite dining spots at Walt Disney World. The menu is full of Southern comfort foods including Church Lady Deviled Eggs, some of the best Fried Chicken we’ve ever tasted, and just-like-mom-used-to-make Macaroni and Cheese.
The dessert menu showcases several Southern specialties but two of the items absolutely stand out! When you’re there, you MUST try the Shine Cake and the Hummingbird Cake!
Today we have the recipe for the amazing Hummingbird Cake, a southern specialty combining a moist pineapple and banana cake with luxuriously thick cream cheese frosting!

I hope that you’re sitting down.
Because we have a ton of pictures and details to share with you about Chef Art Smith’s Homecoming Florida Kitchen and Southern Shine!
The restaurant opened with fanfare and plenty of rave reviews. And we were right there with you as we shared a first look!
If you can believe it, we’ve been back to Homecoming Florida Kitchen (hereafter shortened to HFK to save my fingers extra typing) again since opening day. As a result, we have lots of variety to share with you about this special spot.
This is a place that beckons you to slow down and sit a spell. So to begin, let’s take a nice, leisurely look around.
You’ll find HFK right in the heart of Disney Springs, where the Town Center and The Landing come together.
While the outside may look a little Plain Jane at first inspection, you may form a different opinion after your initial look.
