The holiday season at Disney’s Parks and Resorts is filled with delights like food, festivities, and FUN!
And if you ask us, it’s never too early to start planning for all the holiday happenings!!
There’s some exciting EXCLUSIVE entertainment in Disney World…but some of it is about to become available for everyone!
During Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, you can find special Christmas-themed fireworks, a unique stage show, and more offered just for those who pay the extra bucks to attend the event. But, there’s a secret way to experience that exclusive entertainment without having to pay extra — visiting Disney World later in the year! After that last Christmas party takes place on December 22nd, 2022, there will be some BIG changes in Disney World.
In case you missed it, Disney dropped a TON of holiday news today!
Today, Disney announced that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party would be replaced with a new after hours event called Disney Very Merriest After Hours, the ICONIC gingerbread houses are returning to Disney World Resorts, tons of entertainment is coming back to the parks, and holiday ride overlays are returning — just to name a few. But with all of these announcements, we still have a few questions about what the holidays will look like in Disney World, especially regarding fireworks in Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
It’s officially July, which means it’s time for…Christmas?!
If you’re like Disney, you celebrate when you get halfway to a big holiday season. Back in May, Disney World participated in Halfway to Halloween. Specialty snacks became available for guests to grab in the parks for a limited time and we got some big announcements about Halloween, like news about the new BOO Bash After Hours event coming to Magic Kingdom this year! But now that it’s July, we’re Halfway to the Holidays and Disney is celebrating once again with some special limited time treats!
There’s no doubt that the holidays look a bit different this year in Disney World.
With holiday cavalcades instead of parades, no New Year’s Eve fireworks, and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party cancelled, it can be easy to miss the past holidays at Disney. However, Disney has released a video of last year’s “Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks” for us to enjoy at home!
Since the Walt Disney World theme parks reopened a few months ago, we’ve seen various changes including the introduction of systems like the Park Pass Reservation System and the suspension of Fastpass+.
The holiday experience at Disney World has also changed significantly. Just recently, we shared some updates with you about the upcoming Christmastime entertainment and offerings that will be available at Disney World this year, but there’s also quite a few Christmas staples that guests won’t be able to experience.
The year is not even halfway over but we are already thinking about the holiday season in Disney World.
And it seems like many of you readers have the holidays on your minds TOO, because we get the same question all the time: “When does Disney decorate for Christmas?” (And whether you want the year to be flying by so fast or not, you can make those Advance Dining Reservations for Christmas day NEXT MONTH.)
So today we’re laying out a timeline of when you can expect to see Christmas decor popping up all throughout the Most Magical Place on Earth just in case it helps your planning!
