What do you need after taking a speedy spin on everyone’s favorite design-your-own-vehicle attraction, Test Track? A snack, y’all! (FYI: Most questions can be answered with “a snack.”) And we’re thrilled to tell you that the Test Track-adjacent Taste Track beverage and snack kiosk is open — again — for business!
Disneyland Snack Hack: Churros with Dipping Sauces
We are back with another of our favorite Disneyland Snack Hacks! And this time, it’s dessert all the way, my friends. Previously, we shared with you some winners, like the Saucy Cheddar Cheese Stick and our very own Churro Sundae. And who could forget the Tajin Dole Whip? YUM.
Dining in Disneyland authority Heather comes up with some amazing ideas when it’s time to snack in Disneyland. And it seems that Churros, in particular, lend themselves really well to new snack ideas. Today, we’re gonna dip ’em.
I know, I know what you’re gonna say. You can get Churro Bites with Dipping Sauces over at the Cozy Cone Motel. While they’re pretty good, there’s room for improvement. [Read more…]
Review: The EAT THIS NOW Churro Cupcake from Contempo Cafe
I know! It’s been a banner week for Disney Cupcake fans!!
Recently, I had to share with you the “man, this sure does taste a lot like strawberry” Watermelon Cupcake at the Contempo Cafe.
But today, I’m back to tell you about one so good that I broke a DFB rule! Read on to find out more. 🙂
Churro Cupcake
So, there’s plenty of reasons to love a Churro, right? I mean, what’s not to love about fried dough that’s rolled in cinnamon sugar? The soft inside against the crunchy outside texture makes this one of our DFB #OnTheList favorites. It’s true churros can be found more often in Disneyland, but we love the nods we’ve seen to it on the East Coast as well.
I mean, in both DL and WDW, we’re encountering a whole subculture of Churro-topped treats! There have been Churro Milkshakes, and we’ve even created our very own Churro Sundae. The Churro Funnel Cake at Hungry Bear is now on the full time menu (YAY!). And who could forget the Churro Ice Cream Sandwich?!?!
I’d like to argue that a Churro alone is plenty. But this cupcake took it to a Whole New Snack Level. And that’s what makes this one so special. [Read more…]
Review: Bite-Size Churros from Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe in Magic Kingdom
Who’s up for some CHURROS?
We sure are! (Then again, when aren’t we?!) So our Magic Kingdom stop today is Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe in Frontierland!
Perhaps you were expecting a visit to the Frontierland Churro Cart or the Storybook Pretzel Cart? Fret not, you can still find them there, along with Mickey Pretzels and cold drinks to wash down your snack of choice. But when the menu at Pecos Bill’s underwent a complete change from burgers-and-fries to Mexican fare, Churros suddenly appeared as a dessert option here as well (along with some no-longer-available Sopaipillas).
The take is a bit different, though, at the Tall Tale Inn, so we’re here to have a peek… and a bite or two, of course 😉 .
Here we go!
Of course, Churros have been a long-time favorite of ours (and possibly yours, too). They’re a go-to snack for many guests in both Disney World and Disneyland. So it wasn’t a huge surprise to spot Churros on the updated Pecos Bill menu. [Read more…]
Review: New Menu at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom!
Editor’s Note: Burgers had previously been removed from the Pecos Bill menu altogether, but a new burger, the Southwest Burger, has recently been added. Also, rice bowls aren’t currently available.
Howdy hey there! After being closed for a few days, Pecos Bill Tale Tall Inn and Cafe is back up and running with a completely new menu!
I know this may be not-too-happy news for those old school Pecos Bill fans, but the new menu isn’t so bad. Let’s take a look at the changes! [Read more…]

#OnTheList: Churros at Disneyland
This post is part of the DFB #OnTheList series, where we feature eats you’ve GOT to have while you’re at Disney! Let us know what’s on YOUR Disney Food Bucket List @DisneyFoodBlog #OnTheList!
There is a MAJOR nostalgia factor for me with this week’s #OnTheList item, and many west coast Disney park visitors can’t call it a day at Disneyland until they’ve had one of these: a Disneyland Churro!
Now, you may have noticed something interesting about this #OnTheList item. Much like Dole Whip, Churros are indeed available at both Disneyland AND Walt Disney World. However, we’re giving Disneyland Churros the #OnTheList treatment because they’re more prominent there, and are nothing short of a must-eat treat on the west coast. [Read more…]
News: New Menu Coming to Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe in Disney World
Wondering what’s up in Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland while Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe is currently closed for a three-day refurbishment?
Well, we already have a glimpse of what changes will be revealed when it reopens tomorrow, October 1st… because an ALL-NEW MENU has been posted on the Walt Disney World website!
That’s right… this former favorite-place-to-grab-a-burger for many Magic Kingdom guests has entirely revamped the menu, now focused on Mexican fare, as opposed to the previous burgers, BBQ sandwiches, and side items like Chili-Cheese Fries.
The next time you mosey on in to pay a visit to Pecos Bill, you’ll see Fajita Platters, Burritos, Rice Bowls, and Salads on the menu.
Let’s get right to it!
Starting with the entree choices: Fajita Platters — with either beef or chicken — seem to be the star entree, and Burritos have a presence as well. All are served with Cilantro Rice and Beans, something we’re already familiar with from Tortuga Tavern (a seasonally-open Counter Service restaurant, which is also currently rumored to be facing a menu change of its own). Beef, Chicken, and Roasted Vegetable Rice Bowls, along with a couple of variations on a Southwest Salad round out the entree choices. [Read more…]
Dining in Disneyland: Cinnamon Crisps from Rancho Del Zocalo
Looking for an amazing snack to munch on while perusing Disneyland? Then you must try the Cinnamon Crisps from Rancho Del Zocalo in Frontierland.
Located in between Big Thunder Mountain and the Shooting Gallery, Rancho Del Zocalo is a counter service restaurant offering up Mexican cuisine in the wild wild west of Disneyland.
Cinnamon Crisps are a hidden gem that not many people know about, and Rancho Del Zocalo is the only spot in the park that sells them.
Reminiscent of Taco Bell’s old “Cinnamon Crispas” (remember those!?!?!) this [Read more…]

But I wanted to take a second to share just a few of those must-eat treats here with you as well.
Must-Eat Walt Disney World Treats in 2015
Yep — here at DFB, we always like to kick off each new year with some of our favorite treats spotted during the last few months. But when I sat down to brainstorm this post…well, at first it seemed like 2014 didn’t offer a whole lot of new stuff.
That said, when I started scrolling back through everything we ate this past year, I realized there was a lot to be said for 2014 and its culinary prowess.
There is one really big difference between this year and previous years, however. Most of our crave-worthy dishes are savory this time around! I know! WUT?!??!?!?!?!? Don’t worry, though — I’ve got a few sweeties thrown in.
Here’s the New Food I Want to Stuff My Face with at Disney Parks in 2015!
Barbecue Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese
We thought that Mac and Cheese, that king of comfort foods, was enough. But little did we know what we had been missing, until Disney started putting additional delicious food on top of its cheesy goodness.
We first saw the dawn of Gourmet Mac and Cheese — we’re just gonna call it that if that’s all right with you — a while back. Friar’s Nook introduced the concept, and we were smitten with their Bacon Cheeseburger Mac and Cheese and Blue Cheese Mac right away.
BUT THEN — this happened.
