The Mara in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is seriously one of my favorites, y’all!

News and Review: Unique New Dishes at Disney World’s All Star Music Resort
Intermission Food Court at All-Star Music
is a pretty stereotypical Disney World resort food court…but we’re excited about a few NEW and unique dishes!
New Eats At Golden Oak Outpost in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom
is a great wilderness food stop. Located on the path between Adventureland and Frontierland (and Pecos Bill’s neighbor) in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, Golden Oak Outpost features a tiny and frequently-changing menu of mostly fried, delicious grub.
Review: Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grille in Disney World
You know how sometimes we tell you about a slightly out-of-the-way place and say it’s totally worth the effort to get there? This will not be one of those times. Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grille is located adjacent to (the stupendously awesome) Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts and offers alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and a small menu of snacks for hungry swimmers (and any hungry passersby).
The style of this outdoor bar is slightly nautical, with clean lines and neat hanging lanterns. There’s seating at the bar, which is covered and provides some shade.
Review: Flame Tree Barbecue in Disney’s Animal Kingdom
in the Discovery Island area of Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom has long been a favorite quick service spot for DFB and our readers, viewers, and followers.
The fairly central location — just between Dinoland and the big tree — makes it convenient to most lands in this sprawling park. There’s typically lots of available seating (albeit some of it uncovered). And the food is consistently satisfying and delicious. (Plus the massive portions give us some options with regard to sharing and maximizing Disney Dining Plan credits!)
And there are so many fun details in the decor here, with brightly colored, playful animal carvings providing interest (as well as identifying different seating areas). And there’s always plenty of real wildlife around to entertain the kiddos during the meal — there are some very hungry birds around.
But birds and squirrels aside, let’s see what Flame Tree Barbecue is cooking up!
News!! Rose Gold Ears Cupcake Has Arrived at Epcot’s Sunshine Seasons
Just in case you haven’t heard about the mayhem surrounding Rose Gold Minnie Mouse Ears in Disney Parks (on both coasts!), here’s the skinny…
The minute Rose Gold Minnie Ears hit Disney Parks merchandise locations, the shops could not — and still can not — keep them on the shelves! Folks spent time hovering online waiting for updates about their return and scarfing them up in numbers. You could say they’re kindofa BIG DEAL. [Read more…]

News: Captain Phasma Stein Debuts in Disneyland!
Unless you live under a rock somewhere, you know that the latest iteration of the Star Wars franchise — The Last Jedi — opens today, and you know the Disney Parks are leaping into the merchandise battle with amazing Star Wars souvenirs. (And we aren’t complaining!)
Our pal Carlye Wisel (find her at CarlyeWisel.com!) hooked us up with some pics of a Captain Phasma Stein that You. Must. Acquire.
It comes with your choice of grapes or pineapple — but while we appreciate some healthy eats from time to time, that’s not really why you’re buying it.
Review: Caramel Butter Bar at Karamell-Küche in Epcot’s Germany Pavilion
has become a destination all its own within Epcot’s Germany Pavilion.
And with good reason! Even among the Pavilion’s diverse offerings within Biergarten (a Table Service buffet complete with festive entertainment), Sommerfest (the Counter Service spot with NUDEL GRATINNNNN), and Bier Carts and Hovels, Karamell-Küche focuses on one thing, and one thing only:
CARAMEL!
From seriously addictive Caramel Corn to Caramel Bacon Squares to the ah-mazing Caramel Pecan Bar (you gotta try it!), it’s hard to take in all the different iterations of caramel treats tucked within the Caramel Kitchen’s bakery case.
And speaking of different iterations… I noticed a change to one of my favorite golden treats on my last visit when I spotted a sign for the Caramel Butter Bar. It was front and center ahead of what looked suspiciously like the old Caramel Covered Shortbread — also previously known as the Chewy Caramel Bar.
I wasn’t super concerned at first because this particular snack has been known by a few different names over the years, but basically remained a dependable combo of thick caramel poured atop and in between layers of buttery shortbread.
I figured I was good to go because the “new” Caramel Butter Bar looks… virtually identical to its predecessor. See? [Read more…]
