Things have been a bit busy in Disney World this past weekend. Lots of folks have today off work and for some, that means a day at Disney.
EPCOT China
We were shopping our way around the World Showcase in EPCOT today, as we tend to do. With the holiday weekend, EPCOT definitely had its fair share of crowds, and we spotted a surprising development at one of the merchandise spots in the China Pavilion!
Splash Mountain is set to get a Princess and the Frog re-theming at some point in the future, but for the moment the attraction is still running in Magic Kingdom in its current form.

We’ve seen extremely long lines for Splash Mountain merchandise in the past, but today the line for Splash Mountain itself was so long it had us saying “my oh my, what a CRAZY day!”
Since the Walt Disney World theme parks reopened a few months ago, we’ve seen various changes including the introduction of systems like the Park Pass Reservation System and the suspension of Fastpass+.
Christmas At Magic Kingdom
The holiday experience at Disney World has also changed significantly. Just recently, we shared some updates with you about the upcoming Christmastime entertainment and offerings that will be available at Disney World this year, but there’s also quite a few Christmas staples that guests won’t be able to experience.
Throughout Labor Day weekend, we’ve seen Disney parks hit their capacity limits and we even got a first-hand look at the crowds in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Since Disney World’s reopening, Labor Day is the first holiday being celebrated in the parks (even though Halloween entertainment, treats, and more have started to pop up!).

Disney Park Pass availability for Labor Day Weekend kept seeing some changes with Saturday and Sunday of this weekend being listed as sold out across the board for ALL guests (note right now VERY limited Passes look like they’re available!). Walt Disney World officially reopened all four of its theme parks to the general public in July. Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom began welcoming guests back after an unprecedented nearly four-month closure on July 11, while EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios officially reopened their gates to guests on July 15th.Â

We’ve been on the ground in the parks ever since, including experiencing both cast member previews and Annual Passholder previews, which served as an opportunity for Disney to test their new health and safety protocols on groups that would more closely approximate a public crowd.Â
As Disney reopens in the midst of the global health crisis, our focus has been on helping you understand what to expect when you get to the newly reopened parks, as well as how to navigate Disney’s new planning systems and procedures — from the new Disney Park Pass reservation system to big changes to Disney’s hotel, park ticket, and dining reservation processes.Â
