Y’all, there are so many restaurants I absolutely LOVE, but I have to be honest and tell you there are also some I would NEVER recommend. Wait…never say never, AJ. There is one spot in EPCOT I used to warn people away from that has turned into a place I definitely think you should try!

Since Disney Food Blog historically has been a “faceless” brand (early on it was always our policy to stay anonymous so that we could report on the true experience that any guest would receive when they went to a Disney restaurant or attraction…like an old school food critic), but in all of my photos I always had a manicure. And then, when we hired Tina (who was our primary reporter in the parks for 5 years), her nails were always immaculate — as well as the rest of her; she’s a style ICON!!!

When I look back over 15 years of DFB, it is easy to find many things to celebrate. But I’m not going to lie and say it was all pretty cupcakes and yummy totchos and delectable plastic cheese. Starting a business is HARD. Building a brand is HARD. Planting a stake in digital media, which I swear changes daily, is HARD. And if I’m being completely honest here, there were definitely times when I wanted to quit.

Doing what I do for 15 years has been full of surprises, learning, and flat-out confusion. And I get asked all the time if I have any advice for people who are starting out as content creators, or bloggers, or writers, or photographers, or some other creative or entrepreneural endeavor.
We’ve been covering Disney World food for 15 years, and that means we have many memories of things that were…unfortunate in the late 2000s and early 2010s.

Yes, we’ve had our fair share of not-so-great Disney World snacks, but there were two things about Disney World that DID have to do with dining, but not in the way you’d expect, that was ROUGH. These two things went from being constantly complained about to now being non-issues, which shows just how far things have come in a decade and a half. Those two things? Coffee and water.

We’ve also spent a lot of time taking photos of food and merchandise, capturing those spontaneous magical moments that often happen in the parks, and visiting every single Disney World hotel. So we KNOW Disney World, and we’re sharing something we bet you didn’t know: There are Disney World commandments that you’ve probably broken. No, REALLY!
It has been 15 years since I started the Disney Food Blog. Like many entrepreneurs, I started it as a side hustle while I was working full-time. I was passionate about Disney World, and NO ONE was really talking about the FOOD.

It’s been quite awhile since I started holding up my treats in front of Cinderella Castle and sharing them with the world (and believe me, I got SO MANY weird looks when I started). Over the years, I’ve spent THOUSANDS of dollars trying every restaurant and every new menu item in Disney World — and now we have a whole team reporting 365 days a year (yes, we’re even working on the holidays), and millions of followers! I’m taking a minute today to look back, and I need to tell you that it all started with a not-so-great (at least it SEEMED not so great at the time) day…
