While we wait for the Disneyland Resort to announce reopening plans for their theme parks and hotels, fans have been able to get their shopping and dining fix at Downtown Disney. As the only facet of Disneyland currently open, folks have certainly been enjoying a little dose of the Disney magic!
Starting soon, guests will have more ways to shop popular seasonal merchandise items, and you won’t believe WHERE in the Disneyland Resort the shop is located!
While Disneyland Resort faces an extended closure, we often pop into Downtown Disney to see if we can spot any new merch and dining updates.
While visiting, we’ll stop by Disneyland’s entrance gates to see if there are any signs of life on the other side. We’ve spotted new physical distancing markers and even a potential new walkway. On our recent visit, we stopped by the gates of Disneyland to see what else is new!
Although we’ve seen some changes in and around the Disneyland Resort theme parks that show Disney is getting ready for when Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure can reopen to the public, no official reopening date has been set yet.
A trade association representing Disneyland and others and a new commercial created by a separate group have called on Governor Newsom to open up the theme parks. Now, some of California’s state legislators are joining in too.
We’ve got our Retro Disneyland Ears, Disneyland tumbler, and we’re ready to go to the happiest place on earth. There’s just one problem…it’s closed.
Disneyland closed about 6 months ago. Downtown Disney has reopened but Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park remain closed. While an initial reopening date for the parks was set, it was thereafter delayed, and a new reopening date has yet to be announced. But, Disney officials and others are working hard to push California’s governor to reopen the theme parks.
It may be hard to believe, but Disneyland has officially been closed for six months.
And while Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, has reopened and other Disney resorts around the world have reopened (or plan to reopen!), Disneyland still has no official reopening plan or date.
Disneyland remains closed, but that doesn’t mean we can’t head to Downtown Disney!
We’re in Disneyland’s shopping and dining district to check out EVERYTHING new. So, without further ado, let’s dive into all the fresh news of construction and merchandise in Downtown Disney!
Even though we still don’t know the exact date Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure will reopen, we’re starting to see more signs that the parks are getting ready to welcome guests as soon as they are able to!
Just last week, we spotted some new park reservation signs and a potential walkway at Disneyland Resort, and we’ve seen some health and safety signs outside of the parks as well. Today, we spotted even more additions that show we’re one step closer to Disneyland reopening.
It’s been several months since we’ve been able to step beyond those gates and into Disneyland Park to enjoy the sights, sounds, and magic of the happiest place on earth. And, we’ll just say, we’re in serious need of some snacks from Bengal Barbecue!
Although we’re still waiting for an announcement of a new reopening date for Disneyland Resort, we’ve got updates now about some of the changes we can expect to see in the Anaheim theme parks when guests can finally enjoy them again.
