January has been a busy month, and now Valentine’s Day is right around the corner!
While we were focusing on things like the closing of Splash Mountain and the Walt Disney Company 100th Anniversary, the holiday snuck up on us.
in Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs is THE place to go for high-end chocolates in creative flavors and forms. The latter is what we’re talking about today with the colorful chocolate Pride Pinatas!
Just as it did last year, The Ganachery is serving up colorful pinatas for Pride month! [Read more…]
If you keep up with our What’s New in Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs posts, you’ve probably noticed that The Ganachery in the shopping, dining, and entertainment district often crafts incredible chocolate pinatas for holidays, special events, and World-wide trends.

Today, we’re back with a review of a special, limited time treat — just in time for the release of Disney’s latest HUGE movie — Beauty and the Beast! I give you the Enchanted Rose Cake Pop!
Okay…so Enchanted Rose Cake Pop is the dressed up name that I’m giving this one, because “Character Inspired Cake Pop” is so…. un-Disney-fied. [Read more…]

We’re headed BACK to Disney Springs!
In the past six months, Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney) has gone from a spot that I didn’t visit very often to a place I prioritize on every Disney trip.
There is so much to explore at the newly re-imagined shopping, dining, and entertainment district that I never feel like I never get to the end of it all!
While I took in the seasonal flavors of spots like newbie Amorette’s Patisserie (see what we tried here) and classic Goofy’s Candy Company, I also stopped into The Ganachery.
This teensy tiny shop, located in The Landing “neighborhood” of Disney Springs, has been open for a while now. Check out our first impressions of the shop in our initial tour and review.
And I’m not kidding when I say that it’s tiny. Like, shoebox-like. If there’s a crowd, it can be hard to turn around. [Read more…]

Who’s up for some chocolate?!??
If there’s one thing you can count on, it’s that a choco-craving is bound to strike while you’re in Walt Disney World. And when that happens to me, my favorite way to answer the call is to find a Brownie.
And the great news? Disney World has some ah-MA-zing brownies. [Read more…]

2016 is nearly upon us
, and so we find ourselves looking back at all that 2015 had to offer. It’s been an exciting time, full of huge announcements about new venues and attractions and lots of progress on previously announced projects. Before we bid goodbye to one year and welcome a new one, let’s review where we’ve been and see a glimpse of what’s to come!
There was a HUGE disturbance in the Force — the Disney Force, that is — this summer when Disney announced that Star Wars Land would be coming to both Disneyland AND Walt Disney World. The crowds went wild! [Read more…]

We’re headed back for more macarons! Ready?
We’re on our way to that lovely spot where you can get house-made ice cream, mimosas at 9AM, frangipane, and more — Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie in the France Pavilion of Disney World’s Epcot.
This spot underwent an enormous expansion a while back. And while there are things that we miss about the old bakery, on the whole it’s been a terrific success!
Not only do we have the amazing new L’Artisan des Glaces to tempt us, but the expanded bakery and pastry outlet means that you can enjoy a full meal.
Or you can continue to stop by for a treat between meals. 🙂
And that’s what we’re doing today as I finally get to sample a treat that’s part pastry and part art.
On my recent visit to Walt Disney World, I knew I had to carve out some time to visit Les Halles for one reason: I had to try The Macarons Collection for myself.
They come packaged in this awesome little box — perfect for taking and enjoying one or two while strolling around World Showcase, and saving the rest for later. The packaging also makes for a great take home treat for you or a loved one — if you can stay out of them on the plane ride/car trip home. (Good luck with that.)
Open the lid, and you see the assortment of beautiful colors that make up your gift box of goodies.
And I’m not kidding about these sweet little treats being as much fine art as culinary art. Just look at them!
Now, here’s where we need to talk. Because some of you out there may be tempted to dismiss macarons as frivolous, tasteless, silly little things.
That would be a mistake. Yes, several of them are beautifully dyed to suggest the flavors that hide inside. But they’re still delicious.
Let’s take a closer look at the [Read more…]

They’re baaaaaack! And they’re even better!
We first told you about the clever candy boxes a while back, but on a recent trip to Walt Disney World, I came across some new additions to the collection. This time they’re ALL CHOCOLATE. No gummies or lemon drops to be found.
I mean, I love Coconut Patties and Chocolate Covered Pretzels as much as the next girl, but these are some truly fun souvenirs.
Get ready for the clever-ness…
The Disney Parks “Authentic, Original” logo on the boxes means you should find them at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland.
Nutritional information is located on each box. You know. Just in case you need to know this.
And the numbers do vary a bit, since each of the boxes have a different candy inside.
Ingredients are listed for your consideration as well.
So let’s dive in and see what these little treasures have to offer!
This one’s been around for a while, but I love it! Chocolate will turn any Grumpy into a Happy! (I had to. Come on.)
These Milk Chocolate Caramels pay homage to at least four of the Seven Dwarfs. And I’m pretty sure you could work the rest of them in if you really tried.
I totally know how this guy feels. I’m just mad about chocolate, too! And if you love the rich-cool combo of [Read more…]

I’ve been looking through all of the incredible pics that readers are sharing on our Disney Food Blog Photo Extravaganza Flickr page and they’re AWESOME! Thank you for sharing your memories with us!
Today, all the chocolate love caught my eye — and there’s a lot to share. I thought we could focus on some truly mouth watering On the Go Chocolate Treats. Yum!
The very first time I had the Chocolate Mickey Tart at Jolly Holiday Bakery in Disneyland, it was love at first bite. The shortbread crust and creamy ganache filling is out of this world!

And now, I’m craving another one. And so are you! 🙂
In need of a Disney chocolate cake fix? Don’t shy away from the Triple Chocolate Cake that you’ll find at counter service spots all over Disney World! Fudgy icing covers a rich cake below, and the Mickey sprinkles are a perfect topping!
