Dining in TOKYO Disneyland: Pre-Packaged Souvenir Snacks
One of my very favorite things about my visit to the Tokyo Disney Resort was browsing the shops there. The packaged souvenir snacks were aplenty; shelves, shelves and more shelves filled with unique treats. I was totally obsessed with the adorable packaging. Another plus? There were plastic displays showing you exactly what was inside of that adorable packaging.
Even with the plastic displays though, I still had no idea what some of the things were! Below is a photo tour of some of the items I found adorable and interesting, and a few that were just plain bizarre.
Fun Find: Macaron Merch in Epcot’s France Pavilion
We’re big fans of Macarons around here. These wonderful little pastries are so, so addictive; and recently they’ve started popping up in Disneyland and Disney World, including Patisserie Boulangerie Les Halles.
L’Artisan des Glaces Ice Cream and Sorbet Shop next door even features an Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich made with them!
And judging from your comments, you love them, too! So Disney’s giving guests even more opportunity to show their Macaron Fandom with Macaron Merch in the gift shop right outside of Les Halles!

Snack Series: Coconut Bar at Disney’s Beach Club Resort Marketplace
I love discovering new-to-me treats around the Disney resorts. It’s one of my favorite pastimes! This one I came across upon a late-night foraging session at the Beach Club one day… . Since finding it, it’s become one of my favorite unique resort eats!
Coconut Bar
at Disney’s Beach Club serves a couple of different important functions for this deluxe resort.
It’s your go-to spot for grabbing sundries and souvenirs. But it’s also one of the only places besides Hurricane Hanna’s Pool Bar that offers counter service eats within Beach Club. You can see our latest review of their made-to-order sandwiches here. And don’t forget — this is also your Oreo Bon Bon hook up spot!
But today, we’re focusing on the baked goods you can find here, and one in particular — the Coconut Bar.
First off, let me say — this thing is enormous. You can’t really tell from the close up pics, but check it out by the other cookies in the case above. It’s easily shareable, or you can eat part of it, and save the rest for later. (That’s what I usually do.)
The bar cookie is built on a base of gooey [Read more…]
DFB Reader Questions Answered: Have Selma’s Cookies Disappeared?
Time to answer a reader question!! 🙂 We believe that if one of our readers has a question about Disney dining, there are probably more folks out there wondering the same thing!
Here’s a question that we’ve received from several of you about one of our favorite Disney pre-packaged snacks — Selma’s Cookies!
One reader asks:
On my last visit I was unable to find Selma’s Cookies (the large individually wrapped ones such as chocolate chip) in any of the sweet or bakery shops in The Magic Kingdom. Do you know if they are indeed still selling them?
And the answer is [Read more…]
Review: Christmas Cookies at Magic Kingdom!
are awesome, but what are the holidays without a few cookies?
In Disney, there are dozens of types of holiday cookies to choose from, but I always head straight to the Main Street Bakery in Magic Kingdom to find the really creative ones!
And this visit was no different. Every year I find different options, and they’re all as festive and fun and can be. Let’s take a look at the 2012 editions of the Main Street Bakery holiday cookies!
Santa Mickey Sugar Cookies
I am a sugar cookie fiend — especially when they’re iced (you’re not surprised, are you?!) — and these ones absolutely stole my heart when I saw them in the bakery case!
This simple design represents Santa himself — complete with his little belt and belt buckle! Later in the week I saw these cookies made with a much larger belt and belt buckle, so there may be a few different versions out there depending on who’s manning the icing counter at the Bakery! 😉
But it’s not always what’s on top that counts! These soft, chewy butter cookies are always worth getting at the bakery. They’re delicious, and have a rich, sweet taste that’s [Read more…]
Snack Series: Caramel Apple Cookie from Epcot’s Germany
People have been telling me for months: “Ya gotta try the Caramel Apple Cookie from Karamell-Küche!” Seriously, I’ve been bombarded with suggestions to sample this one and get it on the blog!
But could it really be that fantastic? An oatmeal apple cookie with some caramel drizzled on top?
Yes. Yes it is.
I can tell you that it was absolutely worth the effort and extra trip that I took to Epcot’s Germany Pavilion just to sample it.
The very moist, soft, and HUGE treat had that great, rich buttery flavor — the mark of a truly fantastic oatmeal cookie. While the apple chunks inside were obviously dried, they were plump and flavorful all the same.
The artful drizzle of Werther’s caramel isn’t over the top, but offers a good [Read more…]
