In the blink of an eye, it’s already August! It was a busy month for Walt Disney World, and we saw a lot of announcements over these past few weeks.
Now, we’re rounding up 10 new things that we found out in July. Let’s get crackin’!
July was a BIG month for Disney World fireworks.
Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT Forever at EPCOT both returned on July 1st! Although both of these shows are closing in September, we have some new nighttime shows to look forward to for the 50th anniversary celebrations. Fireworks have been missing from Disney’s Hollywood Studios since it reopened last year, but now they are BACK!
We recently welcomed the 2021 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival into Disney World with LOTS of merchandise, entertainment, and (of course) food booths!
And, while there’s more to come this Fall, we gave you a look at the best value eats and the MOST expensive snacks so far, as well as our top picks for the Best of the Fest this year! But, not everything is great at the Food & Wine Festival. So, we’re giving you a few tips on the dishes that you may want to avoid!🚨🙅♀️
The Jungle Cruise has been getting a lot of attention lately! From a revamp of the ride in both Disneyland and Disney World to a new movie based on the ride, this classic Disney attraction is getting lots of love.
As part of the celebration of Jungle Cruise and the new movie based on the ride, Disney gave guests a special surprise!
We found out recently that Scarlett Johansson is suing Disney over Marvel’s Black Widow being released on Disney+ at the same time as it was released in theaters.
The actress is claiming breach of contract in her lawsuit, saying that Disney’s Marvel Entertainment guaranteed her an exclusively theatrical release of the film. The lawsuit claims that due to her salary being based in large part on the box-office performance of the film, Johansson will lose out on $50 million. After the news broke yesterday, Disney reportedly released a statement as a response to the lawsuit. Now, Johansson’s agency is coming to her defense.
Disney has made several movies based off of popular attractions from the parks.
The most famous (and successful) of those being the Pirates of the Caribbean film series. There’s also the much anticipated Jungle Cruise movie, which comes out July 30th! One ride that’s getting a second shot at a live-action movie is the Haunted Mansion. Disney already gave us the 2003 film with Eddie Murphy, but it only achieved moderate success. However, we know that a NEW live-action Haunted Mansion movie is in the works and we just found out who might be in the cast!
Welcome back, DFB friends! We’re here with another What’s New at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
And, we’ve got plenty of updates to share with you! So, what are you waiting for? Let’s dive right on in!
Oh, Disney…you really know how to pull us in!
The company knows how to play with our emotions. Disney can make us cry nostalgia-induced tears by playing “When You Wish Upon a Star” in a TV commercial, or they can make us almost pass out from excitement when they announce dozens of new Disney+ shows at once. We thought something similar was going to happen yesterday when Disney promoted a livestream on Twitter for an event. We, of course, tuned in, because usually, we get some big announcements from these sort of things. But, that is NOT what happened, not even close.
Jungle Cruise premiered at Disneyland yesterday, and it looked like a BLAST!
The new movie, starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, is set to hit theaters and Disney+ on July 30th. But, in order to promote the film, the cast and crew visited where the Jungle Cruise got its start in the Disneyland Park! And, we’re giving you a look into everything that happened at the premiere, so you can get even MORE excited about the upcoming release of Jungle Cruise!
Disney Springs is home to a TON of shopping, entertainment, and of course, food!!! It’s a great place to take a break from the parks and enjoy something a little different.
If you’re heading to Disney Springs on July 25th, you’re in luck because there’s going to be extra special entertainment on the stage!
