The Walt Disney Company is celebrating its 100th Anniversary, and a LOT has happened in the past 100 years. Even within the past five years, Disney World alone has changed in dozens of ways. If you traveled back in time to the year 2018, imagine how shocked people would be to hear that FastPasses (or “Lightning Lanes” as they’re called these days) now cost extra!

Surely in 28 short days, nothing wild, major, or important happened in Disney World, right? HA — of course not! As usual, Disney managed to cram a whole lotta news into one short month, and there’s a lot to discuss.

What’s new and exciting?

If you haven’t been keeping up lately, you might be surprised to learn that more character meet and greets are returning to the parks, a new cavalcade debuted this month, and the health and safety guidelines CHANGED once again! And that’s just in Disney World. Over in Disneyland, we got some exciting news on the entertainment front that has us seriously considering a trip to California; who’s in? Disney World Just CHANGED Its Genie+ Rules for 1-Day Tickets

Unless you’re some kind of super-human with LOTS of energy, determination, and luck, it can be tough to ride EVERY attraction in Disney World in one trip (particularly a short one) — even with a little help from Disney Genie+! Even if you don’t end up tackling all the rides in Disney, you can definitely knock out a good amount of attractions if you’re strategic about your days (though depending on the crowd levels it could be challenging!).

Trying to ride everything in Disney World is a tricky mission!

Pay-Per-Ride Selections Have SOLD OUT for a Popular Ride in Disney World Today

As the Genie once said (or sang), “You got some power in your corner now”: Disney Genie+ has arrived in Disney World. Between Disney’s two new paid services, Individual Attraction Selection (IAS or pay-per-ride) and Genie+, guests can now skip the lines at many of their favorite attractions and let Disney’s Genie service plan their day.

After a long period of speculation and waiting, we were finally able to test out Disney’s new paid FastPass+ replacement systems today! One important thing to note is that there is a limited number of Individual Attraction Selections available per day and they can sell out. So the question is: how quickly did the first Individual Attraction Selection option sell out today?

Step-By-Step Guide: How to Book and BUY Pay-Per-Ride Attractions in Disney World

Disney Genie+ which is Disney’s FastPass replacement, is here. If you miss skipping the lines at all your favorite attractions, you can now do so with the help of Disney Genie+. But wait, there’s more! While guests will be able to purchase Genie+ and ride most rides with a shorter line, not all attractions are available through Genie+. That’s where the new Individual Attraction Selection (IAS) system comes into play.

The Individual Attraction Selection system uses surge pricing and allows guests to pay-per-ride. Keep in mind that you don’t have to pay to ride the IAS attractions; there will still be a virtual or standby queue.
