If you’re celebrating in the parks, don’t miss the special holiday entertainment, and there are tons of holiday snacks to grab for a few more days! Christmas Day can bring some substantial crowds in the parks though, so many guests may be purchasing Disney Genie+ to try and skip the lines. Let’s take a second now to look at what it costs to skip the lines in Disney World on Christmas Day!

If you’re in the parks, you can watch some special holiday entertainment over the next few days, and there are tons of holiday snacks to grab around the resort. While all of that is wonderful, there can be some downsides to visiting during the most magical time of the year — primarily crowds. And with big crowds and high levels of demand for the parks can come some BIG increases on Genie+ prices. And that’s exactly what we’re seeing…

We’ve been taking in all the sights and sounds from the parks this week so you can be prepared for your next trip. From crowds to wait times to Genie+, we’re keeping track of it all. And today, Genie+ has reached its highest price yet again.Â
In 2021, Disney rolled out a new program called the Disney Genie, which includes both free and paid components to help you plan your best day in a Disney Park.
Disney Genie
While the free Disney Genie assists you in your daily plans, Genie+ allows you to bypass standby lines and book faster ride Lightning Lanes for a fee. Genie+ has recently changed and now Disney has generated a survey about the Disney Genie!
Disney Genie+ has gone through quite a few changes since originally rolling out in 2021.
Lightning Lane signs
We’ve seen updates to how you book and even a shift to surge pricing instead of a flat daily fee. Disney recently announced that BIG changes were coming to Genie+ on both coasts, and now it looks like that update has gone live in Disneyland!

Expedition Everest Lightning Lane
In case you missed it, Genie+ has replaced the old FastPass system in Disney World (and the MaxPass system in Disneyland Resort), and it now costs you a fee to purchase daily. Instead of reserving a FastPass lane, guests can now book Lightning Lanes one by one in the My Disney Experience app. And now the way you make those reservations is getting some updates!
Genie+ was introduced in Disney World over a year ago, and since then, we’ve learned a LOT about the system that replaced FastPass in the parks.
Disney Genie
Genie+ is a paid service that allows you to make reservations for the Lightning Lanes of various rides around the parks. The Lightning Lanes work how the FastPass lanes used to, letting you skip the standby line and majorly cutting down on your wait times. When Genie+ was first introduced, it was $15 per day, per person, but Disney recently switched over to surge pricing, which means the price can vary depending on demand. The service reached its HIGHEST price to date a couple of days ago, and the cost remains high for Thanksgiving Day.
Wall Street has shown its instant approval today for the moves The Walt Disney Company made on Sunday night — replacing Disney CEO Bob Chapek with former CEO Bob Iger. Disney stock jumped up in the early morning, pre-trading hours. Disney fans on social media are also speaking loudly in approval of the change.

But with all of the “huzzahs!” and stock purchases and general warmth around this move, fans are commenting about all the “changes” they are expecting to “bring the magic back” to Disney Parks. But should we really expect any significant change in the parks with Iger back in charge?
