It’s January in Disney World! The holiday season is wrapping up, the crowds are hopefully thinning out, and we might even see some of that rare “winter” weather.

If you’re planning to be in Disney World this month, you might think that January is a relatively quiet time in the parks. And, while that does have some truth to it, that doesn’t mean there’s nothing going on! So, we’re here to tell you about the best things to do in Disney World in January!
Disney World has been open for guests for nearly a year following the closures in 2020, but all in-person runDisney events have been suspended. While virtual, at-home events have taken place, runners have anxiously awaited for the marathons to once again take place in Orlando.

At long last, we finally have some exciting news to share after Disney dropped a little teaser video yesterday!
It’s time for the Disney Princess Half Marathon in Disney World! Participants will be excited to hear that Disney is continuing their tradition of offering special deals exclusively to runners!

In the past we’ve seen offers on marathon weekends like free coffee ripple art at Joffrey’s Coffee. For the Princess Half Marathon weekend, runners can enjoy a special deal returning for a limited time at Disney Springs!

The 2019 Wine and Dine Half Marathon kicks off November 1st and in celebration, Disney Springs is offering runners plenty of discounts and deals for participants to enjoy.Â

In anticipation of the event, we have shared the themes for the weekend. But now, Disney has released a sneak peek of the medals that runners will receive after completing a marathon.
Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend
is off and *ahem* running, and official banana sponsor Chiquita will be supporting runners and doing a little something for the planet at the same time!
That’s because Chiquita-branded waste bins will be placed in the runDisney finish line at race events for the purpose of collecting discarded banana peels.
It’s Walt Disney Marathon weekend, and thousands of runners are gearing up for a fun and magical run! A big part of the runDisney weekends is the Expo, where runners can purchase race shirts, themed sneakers, and lots of other race-specific merch! Our pal @HeatherW25 shared pictures of some delicious souvenirs from the Expo you’ve GOT to see!
