So why is this event so important? Well, the event usually brings a lot of big announcements about Disney movies, Disney parks, and future plans for just about EVERYTHING. Well, we just got our first big update, and it’s about one of Disney’s Star Wars rides in Disney Parks.

It’s never too early to start planning a Disney World vacation. In fact, we’ve even warned our readers to AVOID visiting the Disney parks all the way in 2028. But let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves. Instead, let’s look at 2024. There are some BIG things happening in Disney World next year (like the return of the famous Disney Dining Plan, the removal of the park pass reservation rule, and much more). But now that revenge travel seems to be over, are tons of people still going to Disney World?

Some are just non-negotiable and you absolutely have to ride them every time you visit — trust us, we know the feeling. But what happens when your favorite Disney World attraction is closed? And, what happens if it’s closed pretty often — like more than 50 times in one month?
Earlier this year, Disney made an announcement that shocked both Star Wars and Disney fans alike. After opening in early 2022, in May 2023, it was revealed that the Star Wars hotel would permanently close. Despite its short run in Disney World, the hotel managed to attract a lot of attention when it first opened. Fans described it as an entirely new “experience” where guests were fully transported to another galaxy (there weren’t even any real windows inside the hotel) to live out a Star Wars adventure.

That’s not to say the hotel wasn’t met with criticism. From the start, many Disney fans were disappointed in both the concept and the price (voyages start at around $1,200 per guest per night for two guests in a cabin). After the first few voyage dates sold out, the hotel eventually began to face some vacancy issues. Now that the dust has settled and Disney has commented on its decision to close the hotel, was it all worth it?
