We bid a sad kwaherini to our beloved Peanut Butter Brownie at the Mara at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom Lodge this summer, but we’re thrilled to say: it’s back! But things aren’t precisely as they were. The original Peanut Butter Brownie was a dense chocolate brownie completely covered in creamy peanut butter frosting.
First Look! Newly Re-opened Calypso Trading Post at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort has been quite the center of attention this week! We’re bringing you one another first look from Old Port Royale: the newly renovated Calypso Trading Post!
Before the renovations, Calypso Trading Post was a bit outdated with bright contrasting colors and patterns. Check out Calypso Trading Post’s sleek new island-inspired look!
The decor is simple and rustic but still gives off a laid-back tropical vibe – LOVE the stacked crates and tall shuttered doors!
Disney Restaurant Review: Is Victoria and Albert’s Worth the $$$?
Victoria & Albert’s Restaurant
at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is the foremost restaurant for fine dining in Walt Disney World.
Elegance is paramount in every aspect of the dining experience at Victoria & Albert’s, from decor to service to food. If you and your significant other want a fancy, sophisticated night out, Victoria & Albert’s — with its dinner jackets-level dress code and ten-and-older age restriction — is a unique experience.
What sets Victoria & Albert’s apart from other fine dining at Walt Disney World is the personalization that goes into each guest’s experience. About a week before guests dine here, the restaurant reaches out to learn about each diner’s allergies, likes, and dislikes.
Personalization can take multiple forms at Victoria & Albert’s, from the substitution of a specific ingredient to the creation of an entirely new dish, and so diners receive dishes that suit their likes from start to finish. That’s pretty amazing.
I’ve dined at Victoria and Albert’s multiple times, but usually I choose the chef’s table in the kitchen. This time I headed into the regular dining room. I wanted to figure out 1) Is the experience worth the money, and 2) Which is better — the Chef’s Table or the Main Dining Room? Let’s find out.
Atmosphere
Victoria & Albert’s has three dining room experiences from which to choose: the Main Dining Room, the Queen Victoria Room, and the Chef’s Table. As I mentioned, on this visit, I dined in the Main Dining Room, which houses layers upon layers of tasteful Victorian style. Luxurious window and wall treatments, muted colors, and classic wood accents create a space that is comfortable, but formal. [Read more…]
NEW! Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Breakfast Buffet at Storytellers Cafe at Disneyland’s Grand Californian
In April of this year, Disneyland Resort announced that two brand new character meals were coming to the resort — and in true @DiningInDisney fashion, our Disneyland correspondent Heather Sievers was all over it! She enjoyed Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Breakfast Buffet (which is billed as a Brunch Buffet on weekends and select Mondays and holidays!) at Storytellers Cafe in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel — and it. was. awesome.
This buffet brings Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Chip, and Dale in their finest adventuring attire — and Heather received this cute button on her visit, too! Doesn’t Mickey look ready for fun?
YES! Oatmeal Cookie Sandwich at Disney World!
Walt Disney World’s Pop Century Resort
is known for its nostalgic take on all things, from decor to food. This is the place to get your hands on Tie-Dye Cheesecake, Quiche, and Pot Roast just like Grandma used to make! (Okay, maybe Grandma wasn’t making Tie Dye Cheesecake…)
Everything Pop is the shopping and dining locale for the resort, and just like all great food courts, there are tons of options to suit every palate.
Another Glittery Unicorn Cupcake Gallops Into Disney World!
has long been one of our favorite spots to check out rotating cupcakes. Located at the BoardWalk Inn and Villas, this counter service location is conveniently located for an afternoon break from both Epcot and Hollywood Studios (and it’s near Ample Hills Creamery, which we love!)
Review: Lunch at Disney World’s Contempo Cafe in Contemporary Resort
It’s no secret we love Contempo Cafe. Located in Disney’s Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World — and just a monorail stop away from the Magic Kingdom — Contempo Cafe is a quick service spot that consistently serves some of our favorite fast eats. We’ve long craved the Pot Roast here, but with flatbreads and burgers and desserts galore, you and your crew can’t go wrong.
On this visit, everything was totally awesome. It makes for some great eating and some fun blogging, if I’m being honest. First up: the Contempo Smokehouse Burger. This beauty (yup, a burger can be beautiful) is an Angus Chuck Burger topped with Smoked Bacon Marmalade, Cheddar Cheese, and a huge Onion Ring. There’s a Brioche Bun holding it all together, too.
Review: Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club Resort at Walt Disney World
When it comes to getting a great steak at Walt Disney World, there’s no shortage of intriguing options, including our current favorite steak on property: the Wagyu Beef at Morimoto Asia in Disney Springs.
And when you visit a steakhouse in the World, you enter with certain expectations for mind-blowing excellence. Today we visit Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club Resort. Will it live up to expectations?
Yachtsman Steakhouse has a solid reputation as a place to get a reliable steak with tasty sides (and awesome pull-apart onion bread…). Located in the subtly elegant Yacht Club, with its nostalgic lobby smell and clean, nautical lines, Yachtsman is a convenient out-of-park place to grab a meal, being proximal to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios.
We’ve enjoyed our visits here in the past, including the Porterhouse for Two and a delightful Boneless Ribeye. Would this visit be as successful as those in the past?
A NEW Dessert at The Mara in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
The Mara in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is seriously one of my favorites, y’all!
News: Tambu Lounge Now Offers MORNING DRINKS! at Disney World’s Polynesian Resort
Polynesian Village Resort
is a relaxing tropical getaway — with some great dining and drinking to boot! And since it’s on the Resort Monorail Loop, it’s easy to stop in any time of the day or night on your way to or from Magic Kingdom.
