Sure, ride closures can certainly have an impact on your trip, but it’s those pesky transportation closures that can really get in the way. If you’re heading to Disney World soon, we’ve got a transportation update for you!
There have been a lot of closures lately at Disney World!
The Skyliner is CLOSED
Recently, we’ve seen Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Kali River Rapids in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom, and the Skyliner transportation system all shut down for refurbishment. Happy news though, one of those closures will be reopening TOMORROW!

One popular form of transportation in Disney World is now CLOSED for maintenance, and it’s kind of freaking us out a little bit.

We’ve known about the Disney Skyliner’s closure for a few months now, so that’s not the weird thing. We stopped by the Skyliner station at Disney’s Hollywood Studios today and discovered that all the gondolas on the Skyliner’s cables are MISSING, and tbh the pictures are seriously spooky. Two Disney World rides will close THIS WEEK for LONG refurbishments! Disney occasionally has to shut down rides and attractions in order to update them, and although sometimes those closures only last a few days, this time two rides will be closed for multiple months.

Disney’s Riviera Resort
One of the best perks in our opinion is unique and fast transportation options. Why take a bus when you could hop on the Monorail, walk, or ride the Skyliner to the parks? The Disney Skyliner is a gondola system that we love to use to ride to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. There are only a few hotels that are part of the Skyliner system, but soon those resorts will temporarily lose that perk as the Skyliner closes for refurbishments!
