News: Vivoli il Gelato Debuts Tiramisu Gelato for a Limited Time

That’s right – the Disney Springs gelateria is turning a year old! This spot has been serving scoops of housemade gelato (with many ingredients imported directly from Italy), sorbet, specialty espresso beverages and baked goods since last June when it first opened its doors. What a difference a year makes, huh? Since Vivoli il Gelato opened, it has been joined in Disney Springs by spots like Joffrey’s Tea Traders Café, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, Morimoto Asia, and The Ganachery… and that’s JUST in The Landing neighborhood alone! All of that makes this first birthday for Vivoli il Gelato even more momentous, seeing as it can now be considered one of the bona fide veterans of the Disney Springs dining locations added over the past year.

And to celebrate the anniversary, the spot will be serving a limited-run flavor for THIS WEEKEND ONLY! While supplies last, Disney Springs guests will have the chance to try a custom-made Tiramisu Gelato, based on the traditional Italian dessert. [Read more…]

Full Review: STK Orlando in Disney Springs

… and now we’re back with our full review of STK Orlando, the newest dining venue in Disney Springs!

STK Orlando is the latest addition to the list of Signature Dining restaurants in Disney Springs, which also includes Morimoto Asia and The Boathouse (with Paddlefish and The Edison still on the way).

But STK hasn’t only joined the dining line-up in Disney World — the Orlando location also joins fellow STK restaurants in New York, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, and D.C., with more to come.

So let’s see how STK’s big city vibe fits into Disney World’s shopping, dining, and entertainment district with our first visit for dinner at STK Orlando!

If you checked out our First Look, you already know that STK Orlando is located in the The Landing of Disney Springs; however, the location is easily viewed from the area’s new Town Center. Here is the view as you approach from the Orange Parking Garage.

First Look! STK Orlando in Disney Springs

We’re already back at Disney Springs to take a First Look at STK Orlando!

Now, you might be thinking, “Wait a minute, I thought STK Orlando wasn’t going to open until May 25th?” And if so, you are correct — the newest Signature Dining venue joining the ever-expanding options in Disney Springs doesn’t open to the public until this evening at 5:00 pm.

But the DFB was kindly invited to a Preview event that took place last night. So while we are looking forward to dining there tonight and to bringing you our full review of our first dinner at STK Orlando soon, we couldn’t wait to give you a little sneak peek now 🙂 .

So welcome to this First Look at STK Orlando!

Though technically situated in The Landing of Disney Springs, STK Orlando is still very much visible from the new Town Center in its spot near Morimoto Asia and Planet Hollywood. In fact, the building’s exterior — built to bear a resemblance to a refurbished train station — fits in nicely with the early-1900s-era inspired setting that is the Town Center.

First Look and Review: The Daily Poutine in Disney Springs

My friends, the daily routine has just stepped up a notch…

… thanks to the arrival of The Daily Poutine in Disney Springs!

The Daily Poutine is one of four new Disney owned-and-operated food kiosks joining Disney Springs. B.B. Wolf’s Sausage Co. and YeSake also opened on Sunday, May 15th, while AristoCrepes will make its debut on May 22nd.

The Daily Poutine serves up the traditional Canadian dish of hot fries topped with gravy and cheese curds — along with a few twists on the classic. And though its arrival was only announced a few weeks ago, DFB Readers have been positively itching for a Poutine stand for ages! Until now, Poutine has only been available at Le Cellier Steakhouse in Epcot’s Canada Pavilion (and even there, the focus has been on non-traditional takes on the dish).

First Look and Review! Sprinkles Cupcakes in Disney Springs Town Center

Seeing as we’re HUGE cupcake fans here at the DFB, this latest Disney Springs opening is a definite cause for celebration! And if you love cupcakes as much as we do, then this is great news for you, too, since Sprinkles was designated the “world’s first cupcake bakery” by the Food Network (the first location opened in Beverly Hills in 2005).

Of course, maybe you’ve already paid a visit to Sprinkles, which has locations in Dallas, Chicago, Las Vegas, and Nashville, among others. (Even though I prefer my beloved Magnolia cupcakes in the Village, I, myself, am intimately familiar with Sprinkles’ order-ahead policy and the employees at my local Sprinkles Cupcakes store pretty much know me by name.)

You may have tried one of the signature cupcakes, a house-made cookie, or some slow-churned ice cream (some locations carry all three, though some offer solely cupcakes). Maybe you’ve even zipped by one and grabbed a cupcake from one of the famous Cupcake ATMs.

But you’ve never been able to have one at Disney World… until NOW!

First Look and Review! The New D-Luxe Burger in Disney Springs Town Center

You, too? Then join us at Disney’s newest burger joint, D-Luxe Burger!

Newly opened in the Town Center of Disney Springs (and by “newly” we mean TODAY!!!), D-Luxe Burger is a Disney owned and operated location specializing in gourmet burgers made with signature blend patties, freshly cut fries (with TONS of sauces), and artisanal gelato shakes — including “adult” versions.

So, yes — it’s that classic combo, indeed. But there’s definitely more than a twist or two involved…

First Look and Review! B.B. Wolf’s Sausage Co. in Disney Springs

Well, if you’re one of the Three Little Pigs, you probably are — and with good reason! But if that doesn’t happen to be your situation 😉 , then you have no reason to fear stepping right up to the brand new B.B. Wolf’s Sausage Co. kiosk — especially if you’re in the mood for the house specialty!

B.B. Wolf’s Sausage Co., The Daily Poutine, and YeSake are three Disney owned-and-operated food kiosks slated to open on May 15th — the same day the new Town Center will open in Disney Springs. (The final kiosk to join Disney Springs, AristoCrepes, is scheduled to open on May 22nd.)

But we were able to happen upon a soft opening today! Prior to official openings, sometimes new Disney World eateries will host soft openings to give the Cast some practice and work out any possible kinks (this also means that the spot is not guaranteed to be in operation at any given time until it officially opens on May 15th).

With more than a wink and a nod to the story of The Three Little Pigs — which Walt Disney produced as a Silly Symphony short film in 1933 — B.B. Wolf’s Sausage Co. is serving up Artisan Sausages to Disney Springs guests.
