food IS a theme park

Can you believe it’s already been over three years since the Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Bakery became the first Starbucks location in Disney World?
At the time of the transition from the original Main Street Bakery, it was a pretty major, high-profile change. These days, though, it’s no longer unusual to spot the signature Starbucks green Siren logo around both Disney World AND Disneyland, and guests have become rather accustomed to getting their favorite Frappucino or Pumpkin Spice Latte on their Disney vacation.
As far as food goes, primarily you’ll find similar (if not the exact same) options that you’ll be familiar with if you tend to frequent Starbucks in your hometown — pastries and treats like the popular Iced Lemon Loaf, or small meals like Breakfast Sandwiches.
But you’ll still find a few unique-to-Disney items in the case at Main Street Bakery. The same is true of the other in-park Starbucks locations: Epcot’s Fountain View, Animal Kingdom’s Creature Comforts, and The Trolley Car Cafe in Hollywood Studios.
Today we’re going to look at a mix of both at the Main Street Bakery — one Starbucks item, and two unique-to-Disney items. In fact, we’ll mix it up even further by making one of those Disney items a seasonal offering. After all, ’tis the season for creepies and crawlies…
… like the current Spider Cupcake! [Read more…]

Well, you already know about the Starbucks Holiday Mug exclusive to the Disney Parks Starbucks: Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Bakery, Epcot’s Fountain View, Animal Kingdom’s Creature Comforts, and The Trolley Car Cafe at Hollywood Studios.
But did you know about the itty-bitty versions of the year-round cups and mugs? That’s right — the in-park Starbucks are also selling ornaments of the signature Starbucks cup design that you can only find in Disney Parks.
Your choices are miniature versions of the hot beverage cups or the cold beverage tumblers for $12.95 each. [Read more…]

Not sure if you’ve noticed, but…um…it’s HOT.
And a couple of weeks ago when I was wandering Hollywood Studios checking out the latest menus and Frozen extravaganzas, I popped into The Trolley Car Cafe to see if anything had changed in their bakery case.
Nothing had, but I DID see a new sign up on the wall advertising a couple of icy new drinks. And because it was dead in there (I guess because nobody was thinking they should go to Starbucks for a coffee in the middle of July in Orlando), the delightful Cast Members and I started to discuss… .
If you haven’t had the pleasure of visiting a Disney Starbucks yet, we’ll give you a quick rundown. Each of the Disney Parks locations are themed after they Park in which they’re in, and each location has its own unique name and theme.
For more about The Trolley Car Cafe and its terrific retro decor, which you’ll find conveniently located at the corner of Hollywood and Sunset Boulevards, check out our first look post about this spot. (Want to know about the other WDW theme park Starbucks stops? We have pages for Main Street Bakery, Fountain View Cafe, and Creature Comforts too.) [Read more…]
They’re finally back!
All of you who love to collect the popular Starbucks “You Are Here” Mugs can now finally add the Epcot Cup to your collection. The mugs are once again being sold in the Fountain View Starbucks location in Walt Disney World’s Epcot.
Starbucks and Disney originally introduced the joint collaboration mugs earlier this year, and debuted versions for Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Epcot. (Disney’s Animal Kingdom will have a mug as well when the new Starbucks planned for that park opens soon.)
However, the Epcot mug was almost immediately removed from the shelves when it was noted that the monorail featured on the mug had a purple stripe in keeping with the cup’s color scheme. Monorail Purple was one of two trains involved in the 2009 fatal accident that took the life of pilot Austin Wuennenberg. After the accident, the train was retired.
When the mugs were removed, Disney and Starbucks promised to return an updated version to store shelves shortly. The new cups, which feature a [Read more…]

We’re taking a quick trip around all four Disney World Parks and then making stops at several Resorts, where a lot of food news seems to be taking place as of late!
But we’re starting our “World”-wide tour at Downtown Disney, and taking a peek at how things are shaping up as the transition towards “Disney Springs” continues on. And we may even take a sneak peek at something coming to our friends in Disneyland on the west coast.
So, are you ready to see What’s New? Good! Because in the words of Peter Pan, “Here we GOOOOOOO…”
Okay, so we’ve mentioned it a couple of times recently, but that’s because we’re happy that BabyCakes has a new home in Downtown Disney! Located at The Landing of what will be Disney Springs, Erin McKenna’s Bakery NYC has been up and running since 1 pm on Sunday, February 22nd.
Featuring gluten-free and vegan baked goods, this is great news for guests on some dietary restrictions. Read our opening day review here!
Speaking of baked goods, Flour and Sugar is a little kiosk that can be found on the newly opened Marketplace Causeway. It sells pre-packaged cookies inspired by various cities in the Sunshine State.
We tried the Siesta Key Key Lime S’more, and we’ll have a review here for you soon!
All in all, things really seem to be picking up speed in Downtown Disney with the Causeway completed, allowing an easy stroll from spots around T-Rex to the Rainforest Cafe side at the Marketplace.
We’ll be sure to take a little tour along the path when we’re back with our Flour and Sugar review! The next thing we have our eyes on? Look for [Read more…]
