Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is the newest hotel being built near Magic Kingdom, and it’s been a long time coming. Originally, Disney announced a hotel called Reflections: A Lakeside Lodge for this space — and then never talked about it again. But, Lakeshore Lodge is the new hotness that will be opening at Disney World in 2027 and we’ve got a new aerial look at the progress!
Aloha! The Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows has officially opened!

Disney World’s newest resort is a new Disney Vacation Club addition next to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Previously, it was home to the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show, which closed in March of 2020. This new hotel is home to stunning views of Seven Seas Lagoon, has a Moana-themed splash pad, and a brand new restaurant! While all of this is super exciting, unfortunately, this new hotel is not all that it seems, as we have some bad news about the Island Tower.

Disney Lakeshore Lodge will be opening in 2027 right in the same spot that was going to be Reflections — A Disney Lakeside Lodge Resort. Now, there’s not much we know about this resort, but Disney did share some concept art, and since they have a habit of trying to be sneaky with their concept art, we thought we’d have ourselves a little look and see what nuggets of info about for the new hotel we can glean!

A brand-new DVC lounge just opened in EPCOT above the Imagination Pavilion, and the new DVC Island Tower is opening up at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort in just a few short days. If you’re thinking about becoming a Disney Vacation Club Member, now might just be the perfect time!

Riviera Resort
The pricey timeshare-style program from Disney allows owners to buy points that they can then use to book stays at a variety of Disney properties, including hotels at Disney World and Disneyland Resort. You don’t have to be a DVC member to stay at those particular resorts, but if you travel to Disney destinations often enough, it might be worth buying into the program. However, recently there has been a big problem facing DVC members.

While some announcements have been bittersweet, like the location of the new ‘Cars’ expansion and Monsters, Inc. land, Disney World will soon be home to so many new attractions and experiences!
