Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Wish, is setting sail in summer 2022, and we’ve already gotten a peek inside! But today, we got some HUGE news about the ship. At the Once Upon a Disney Wish event, Disney revealed that the ship will have the first EVER Disney attraction at sea!
While cruises are still docked, for the time being, we have updates coming from the Disney Cruise Line to tide us over until sailings can resume.

We’ve been closely following the project, from the day the ship’s name was announced to updates on WHEN, exactly, this ship will set sail. While the big debut was delayed to summer 2022, Disney is still hard at work! And today, construction reached an exciting milestone.
Can you believe it’s been an entire year since the Disney Cruise Line had its last sailing? As the CDC has continued to extend no-sail regulations and cruises were listed under a new Level 4 risk, the ships have been docked and quiet for some time.
Disney Cruise Line — The Disney Fantasy
Since then, the Disney Cruise Line has continued to extend its closure (currently through August this year) as passengers are given extended periods of time to use their credits to rebook sailings. Disney has started to look ahead to 2022 by scheduling upcoming departures, but there hasn’t been too much news on when the ships will actually start sailing again.

We recently saw itineraries announced for Spring 2022, and we can’t wait to see more about one of the newest ships — the Disney Wish — which is still being built. Even though the construction of the latest ships has been delayed by the pandemic, during this morning’s Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Celebration, Disney shared a fun update about one upcoming addition to Disney Cruise Line. We now know what character statue will be featured in the main lobby of the Disney Wish!
