We are beyond excited about all the upgrades happening around Disney World for the big 50th anniversary celebration that starts later this year (and lasts until 2023!!!).
And it’s going to be QUITE the party, and the whole resort is getting a glow-up so it can look its best for when the celebration begins. Not only is EPCOT going through a massive transformation, but all four parks will see some special effects added to their icons.

As Disney World prepares for the resort’s 50th Anniversary in October, we’ve seen a variety of work to spruce up the parks. Last week we spotted a permit for work on the Peter Pan’s Flight sign and now that sign has DISAPPEARED!
Magic Kingdom has some beloved attractions.
Fantasyland, especially, is home to some iconic favorites. One super popular ride is Peter Pan’s Flight. This attraction has been receiving some mystery updates recently; first hidden behind construction walls and now a GIANT themed scrim. Now, we know a little bit more about the work.
We got some major Disney World announcements recently.
We learned the official opening dates for two new things coming to EPCOT later this year — Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and La Crêperie de Paris! They’ll both be opening on October 1st in celebration of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. But, we couldn’t help but notice that another upcoming attraction wasn’t mentioned — EPCOT’s new fireworks show, Harmonious.

The celebration will begin October 1st, 2021 (that’s Disney World’s 50th birthday!), and will be a whopping 18 months long. Mickey and Minnie are gonna rock brand-new costumes, and each of the 4 park icons will receive a mini-transformation. And believe it or not, we’ve already seen some progress on the Cinderella Castle makeover in Magic Kingdom! Plus, we’ve gotten a behind-the-scenes peek at what the final result will look like.
