When Disney World annual passes went on sale back in April for the first time in months, there were multi-hour wait times on the Disney World website just to buy one or upgrade your current pass tier. And now, it seems that with an influx of new Passholders, Disney is preparing to offer those visitors a few extra perks!

Annual Passholders have an entirely separate park pass availability calendar they work off of, and they often get exclusive merchandise as well! It was announced last month that two new perks would begin this month, and that time has finally come.

Disney recently announced that Annual Passes would go on sale sometime before the 50th anniversary, and today they released a BUNCH of information about the new system! Just like the Magic Key passes at Disneyland, Disney World is getting a brand new Annual Pass system with new tiers and names. One of the biggest changes has been the introduction of the Park Pass Reservation System, which requires guests to have both a valid ticket AND a reservation for access to one of Disney World’s theme parks. When the Park Pass system went live, a number of Annual Passholders were left in a confusing situation — if they held a hotel reservation, they were only able to book the length of their resort stay and NOT also their three days of passes at a time allotted to them as Passholders. It seems this has changed!
