If you’re planning a trip to Walt Disney World, there is a LOT to think about right now. As a result of the global health crisis, we’re seeing some big changes to the way we do Disney World. We’re talking updates to the dining reservation system, an all-new Disney Park Pass theme park reservation system, and no more Park Hopping, to name a few.

If you’ve been hard at work planning or rescheduling an upcoming Disney vacation, you may have wrapped your mind around some of the big changes. But, there are still quite a few things that most people booking a Disney trip right now DON’T know.
Disney World is reopening this week, and that means that some guests are ready to plan their trips to the parks.

During the historic Disney World closure, new ticket sales and hotel reservations were indefinitely suspended so that Disney could accommodate guests with existing reservations. New vacation packages for 2021 opened first and last night, Disney announced that 2020 purchases would be available TODAY. It’s official! 2020 Disney World tickets and hotel reservations are available NOW!Â
We’ve been hanging out in the reopened Disney World resorts this week and there are a lot of updates!

One of the updates we’ve been really interested in learning more about is the new Virtual Chat feature for resort guests. This new option gives resort guests a whole new way to access Cast Members at the front desk while they’re staying at a Disney World resort. It’s SUPPOSED to be super quick and easy — but that’s not quite how things turned out.
We’re checked in to the reopened Disney World resort hotels today to see what we can learn!

With all of the health and safety protocol changes we’re seeing in the resorts today, we have a few specific questions. For one, can we still get groceries delivered to our Disney World resort hotel?

Just a few minutes ago, Disney announced the return of Advance Dining Reservations for guests with some upcoming resort hotel reservations. Now, we’re learning more about what the new dining experience will look like in Disney World. One example? Disney just announced the NEW Mobile Dine Check-in feature for the My Disney Experience App!
Recently the NBA announced its decision to allow several teams to finish their 2020 season in Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.Â

And now, we just found out the NBA players will be permitted to invite family and friends as they advance in the playoffs!
Select Walt Disney World Resort hotels will begin welcoming guests again on June 22nd.

And, along with the reopening of the hotels, many Resort restaurants (though not all) will be welcoming guests again as well. As Disney has been working to update the dining reservation system in response to new safety measures which will be implemented around the Resort, guests have been unable to make Advance Dining Reservations to book the restaurants which will be open to guests. The Walt Disney World theme parks will begin a phased reopening on July 11th. Ahead of that, select Disney Resort hotels will begin to reopen to guests starting on June 22nd.
