You already know how much we enjoy playing games here at DFB, especially now that we’re celebrating Treat Yo’ Self Tuesday for DFB Spirit Week with you!
So let’s play another one! This one’s real QUICK and EASY!
As all the Disney Parks around the world closed in the past couple of months, it became obvious that the Walt Disney Company was in for a serious financial blow to their bottom line.
The truth is, when it comes to figuring out how much these closures will cost Disney, we can’t calculate an exact dollar amount. In reality, we probably won’t learn about any real numbers until Disney releases their quarterly reports and their subsequent Fiscal Year 2020 Annual Financial Report.
In the meantime, however, we can look to previous years’ reports and come to the conclusion that, to no one’s surprise, Disney stands to lose A TON of money by closing the parks.
Disneyland Resort has remained behind closed gates since shutting down its parks on March 14th.
And, while the temporary closure was only expected to last until the end of the month, Disney officials have just announced Disneyland Resort will remain under lock and key for even longer.
The first official DFB Snack Madness tournament is underway and round one has just closed, but don’t worry — there’s still plenty of time left to play along!Â
And we just gotta take a moment to say, y’all are wildin’ out there with some of these PICKS! We can’t believe how many of Disney’s mightiest treats have already FALLEN!
We’ve been wondering how the current closures in Disneyland could affect the Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival. It’s set to end on April 21st and that’s coming up soon! If closures get extended, there won’t be any chance to chow down again at all this year!
Well, we were keeping an eye out for any new building permits coming to Disneyland when we spotted an extension to a permit for the Food and Wine booths! This extends the original end date on the permit to a new end date in September! Does this mean that the festival will be getting extended? Maybe! Here’s what we know!
We’ve REALLY been missing that feeling of walking down Main Street, U.S.A., smelling all the park goodies, and hearing the harmonies from the Dapper Dans in Disneyland.
Even though the park is closed right now, we’re still able to get a little bit of that magic through Disney songs and the voices of the Dapper Dans from home!
Oh Mickey, how we miss you! We’re now in our second week of Disney World and Disneyland being closed, and we’re having some serious Disney withdrawals.
Currently, people have trips to Disney booked for early April. Our number one and two questions from our readers, viewers, and followers is “When will Disney World reopen?” and “Should I cancel my Disney World trip?”
But Disney has been particularly quiet regarding the status of the park closures and any potential extensions.
Based on the Disney Parks worldwide timeline and the current local government mandates in California and Florida, it seems unlikely that the domestic Disney parks will open anytime soon. But when can we expect Disney World and Disneyland to give us the word on a reopening date…or at least a closure extension?
Let’s look at recent events to see if we can break it down.
While you’re confined at home (probably stuck somewhere between a Disney+ connoisseur and a world-class Disney baker), now’s the time to get creative!
And, although we are sure there are lots of DIY projects you’re ready to get done around your house, you can also make some magic with TOILET PAPER. Yup, you read that right, folks!!
There’s lots of uncertainty over exactly when Disney World will reopen following its historic closure last week.
As of this writing, both Disney World and Disneyland announced that their parks would be closed through the end of the month, implying that the parks could reopen on April 1, 2020.
However, due to the continuing headlines about government-mandated closures of public institutions like restaurants and bars, bans on gatherings, and strong recommendations of social distancing, questions are being raised over whether the parks really will open on April 1st.
While we don’t have the definitive answer, we can look to the closure timeline of Disney’s parks both domestic and worldwide. There may be some clues!
As we head into spring, we are getting excited for strolls down Main Street, U.S.A. with an ice cream in hand, the smell of popcorn in the air, and of course Dapper Day!
That’s right, every spring and fall, guests at Disneyland Resort show up looking as classy as ever to celebrate “fun and refined style from yesterday and today.” But due to the recent park closures, this year’s Dapper Day is switching things up a bit!
