As you know, Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort have begun their temporary closures as part of the efforts to mitigate the effects of the Coronavirus.

However, Downtown Disney is open for guests already in Disneyland to dine and shop while they relax! But, along with the change in operating hours in Downtown Disney, one of our favorite ice cream shops is tweaking their schedule too!
With Disney World closing as a precaution for the Coronavirus along with Disneyland on the opposite coast, Disney is working to protect its guests and Cast Members during this time!

And, although many of the park employees will continue to be compensated during the closure, we’re sad to see one of the most magical parts of Disney temporarily shut down.
In response to the coronavirus outbreak, Disney has announced the closure of Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. Disney has already closed the parks in Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Tokyo and Disney World and Disneyland Paris closed shortly after.

The parks closed beginning the morning of Saturday, March 14th, and were initially currently scheduled to remain closed until the end of the month. Disneyland Resort Hotels remained open until Monday, March 16th, so guests had time to make necessary travel arrangements. Initially, Downtown Disney was to remain open during the park closure, but Disney later announced that it would be closing March 20, 2020.
On March 27, 2020, Disney announced Disneyland would remain closed “until further notice.”Â
Disneyland has released information for guests who have already purchased resort stays, vacation packages, made Advance Dining Reservations, and more. Here’s what guests can expect to receive as far as refunds or future use of tickets, experiences, and more.
As Tigger would say, it’s time to bid Disneyland a “ta ta for now”! The parks will be closing their gates through the end of the month as a precaution for the Coronavirus outbreak.

While you can’t snack on a park churro or Dole Whip for the time being, you can still add some extra pixie dust to your day by visiting Downtown Disney! While the shopping and dining area won’t be closing just yet, there are a few changes coming soon.

While Disney World and Disneyland are shutting their gates along with the rest of the Disney Parks around the world, the Disney Cruise Line is canceling upcoming departures — as a precaution to promote safety for guests and cast members. So, if you’re a Disney Vacation Club Member, what does that mean for your points? Well, we did a little digging and got all the answers for you!
PLEASE NOTE: This post has been updated with additional information released on March 16, 2020, and also more information that followed on March 28th. As a reminder, all Disney World Resort hotels including all Disney Vacation Club properties and Disney’s Vero Beach Resort and Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort closed by 5:00 PM on March 20, 2020. Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii also began a temporary closure on March 24th. All of these properties — as of March 27th — are closed “until further notice.”Â
