We’ve been keeping you updated on the progress of the transformation of Caribbean Beach Resort. One of the big changes includes updates in the dining locations. Today, Disney announced the menu options for Centertown Market and the Banana Cabana Pool Bar.

Centertown Market is the quick-service option at the resort themed as an indoor street market with seating or grab-and-go options.
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort has been undergoing renovations since January 2017
. Many of these renovations have had a direct impact on guests staying at the resort including restaurant closures and room closures as well as construction noise and detours. Let’s take a look at where we stand now.
Construction
Let’s start with the cause of most of the construction — the addition of the Disney Skyliner System and Disney’s Riviera Resort. Disney World’s Mobile Order system, accessible through the My Disney Experience App, has been around for just over two years. Mobile Order lets you skip the register lines in participating restaurants by ordering and paying for your food in advance through the app.

Since its launch, we’ve seen the Mobile Order program expand to more dining locations within the four theme parks, and a very short lived couple of days for the Contemporary Resort’s Contempo Cafe. Now, it seems Mobile Order is giving Resort Counter Service options another go as it has expanded once again to include Spyglass Grill at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. [Read more…]
Disney World’s Caribbean Beach Resort has been undergoing major refurbishments over the past year (plus a few months). And the Moderate Resort’s dining areas have been greatly impacted during the renovations. So we are especially excited to share new information regarding Caribbean Beach Resort dining options, starting with the announcement of Sebastian’s Bistro!

Yes! Sebastian’s Bistro will be an all-new dining location, taking the place of the Table Service restaurant that was formerly Shutters.
Sebastian from The Little Mermaid is a fitting inspiration, given the Caribbean feel and flavors that will be showcased in the waterfront restaurant. [Read more…]
Guests at Disney World’s Caribbean Beach Resort can now enjoy a brand new Counter Service option with Spyglass Grill!

Located by the pool in the Trinidad South section of the Resort, this walk-up window is serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The menu options focus on popular quick service eats, but with an added infusion of Caribbean flavors. For instance, breakfast choices include Cream Cheese and Guava-stuffed French Toast with strawberry guava syrup and Pineapple-Banana Pancakes. And the Breakfast Cuban is made with ham, pulled pork, egg, and Swiss cheese.

Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar and Restaurant
You read that right… FIFTEEN!! A few of these locations opened in late 2017, such as BaseLine Tap House in Hollywood Studios and the Ale & Compass Restaurant, so you can enjoy them right now. But many are still to come, like Jaleo, Terralina Crafted Italian, and the VERY soon-to-open Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar. Dining options at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort have been very limited since this spring when the Old Port Royale Food Court, Shutters, and the Banana Cabana Pool Bar closed as part of the huge renovation project happening at the resort.

In addition to the three Island Markets (aka repurposed hotel rooms), where guests can find grab-and-go items and purchase refillable mugs, breakfast and dinner are available in a temporary tent located near Centertown, and a food truck is also on site.
But there’s some good news to report! According to wdwnt.com, a new quick service location is set to open in early 2018 at the resort! [Read more…]
Happy weekend! We hope you’re having a great one. Can you believe it’s almost the end of February? You just gotta love a super short month! (Or maybe not…cause AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!) But you know what the beginning of March means? It means it is time for the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival!

We can’t wait for the start of the 2017 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival with its Outdoor Kitchens! We got a sneak peek at some of the new eats and sips at this year’s Festival!
And then we head out to the 2017 Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival. We have the full booth menus for the DCA Food and Wine Festival! And don’t forget, the 2017 Epcot Food and Wine Festival starts in August this year! Whew! We’re going to be a very busy bunch here at DFB!

Last week we broke the exciting news about new dining updates coming to Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Now we’re learning that the upcoming construction projects mean the temporary closure of the restaurants at Caribbean Beach Resort.

Guests with reservations at Caribbean Beach Resort this spring – with arrival dates beginning around May 1 – have been receiving emails from Disney notifying them that a resort refurbishment is taking place during their stay and that Old Port Royale Food Court, Shutters, Banana Cabana Pool Bar, and the Calypso Trading Post will be closed. It’s been waaaaay too long since I’ve stopped by one of my very favorite pool bars in all of Walt Disney World…
But now I’m back at long last. Welcome to the Banana Cabana Pool Bar at Disney World’s Caribbean Beach Resort!
Banana Cabana may not be new and flashy like some of the more recent watering holes to arrive in Disney World like AbracadaBar or Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto. And the still relatively new Oasis Pool Bar is delivering some brag-worthy eats to guests at Polynesian Village Resort.
But Banana Cabana has long held a place in my heart because of its tropical vacation vibe and terrific bartenders. Banana Cabana is a mini-getaway in and of itself, even within the Vacation Kingdom.
So join me in kickin’ back with a few drinks by the pool at Banana Cabana!
