It was a BIG week of surprises in Disney World!
From huge restaurant news to early openings of a character meet-and-greet and a highly anticipated show, we weren’t sure what else to expect this week! Find out all the news right here.
There’s always something new happening in Disney World!
Planning a Disney World vacation can be tricky, especially with new features like Genie+ and the park pass reservation system. And with summer crowds, a limited-time fireworks show to consider, and Disney’s steadily increasing prices, planning is tougher than ever right now. If you’re heading to Disney World next week, keep reading to see some very important information!
Disney’s Star Wars themed cookie sandwich, the Wookiee Cookie, is beloved by many (including us!).
This Oatmeal Cookie with cream filling has been satisfying guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Backlot Express since 2019. Since then, it’s also made an appearance in Disneyland! We love the Wookiee Cookie, but when we went to Hollywood Studios in the summer of 2022, we noticed something a little different.
In Disney World, seemingly every inch of the place is filled with magic! This is certainly true of its HIGHLY immersive and thematic restaurants!
Much like Disney’s attractions, the Disney World restaurants have many enchanting details. And just like the rides, each restaurant has some seats that are better than others!
Disney’s Hollywood Studios has seen some massive menu CHANGES recently, and more are on the way!
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater got a menu overhaul not too long ago, and we brought you along with us as we tried the new menu items over at 50’s Prime Time Cafe. We’ve also seen new treats arrive in the park, including a coffee we had waited forever for. And we’ve shared how buffets will soon return to Hollywood & Vine, but there’s yet ANOTHER change coming to a Hollywood Studios restaurant soon!
Dining at Disney World is DIFFERENT these days.
Some restaurants are still closed, some restaurants have seen BIG menu overhauls, and some restaurants are reopening, but with some significant price increases. Even at the restaurants that are open, there have been some changes. Some former character dining spots aren’t featuring characters right now, and some former buffet locations are serving family-style or prix fixe meals. Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, one restaurant that has been a little bit different lately will be seeing a BIG change soon!
Certain Disney World restaurants are just TOUGH to get into! Especially during the height of the pandemic, it was darn near IMPOSSIBLE to get into some of the most popular restaurants, in particular!
But at risk of jinxing things…has it actually gotten EASIER to get into these hot spots?! Pardon us while we go knock on wood.
Slowly, but surely, many experiences have returned to the Disney parks. Nighttime shows like the Main Street Electrical Parade, Disneyland Forever, and World of Color have returned to Disneyland Resort, and things like the Harmony Barber Shop, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and the popular Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue are preparing to open soon.
Another popular nighttime show is Fantasmic! This show has already returned to Disneyland, and while we know that it will be returning to Disney World this year, Disney has not shared an exact opening date yet. Progress is being made, however, and today we’re sharing an updated look at this space!
Summertime is starting to heat up in Disney World, and there’s a lot to look forward to!
New summer foods have flooded the parks, providing tasty ways to celebrate the season! While some items melted the excitement (looking at you, Brownie Crispy Cone), others satisfied our sweet tooth, like the Cheshire Cat Wild Berry Parfait! And, if you’re looking for a frozen adult beverage (and you’re 21 or older) to sip on in the middle of a hot day, you’ll want to see this new drink!
Some Disney World restaurants have a totally different vibe depending on the time of year.
Hollywood & Vine in Disney’s Hollywood Studios features seasonal dining opportunities with new themes and costumes for the characters, with special holiday themes and characters appearing throughout your meal. Since it reopened after Disney World’s 2020 closure, we’ve been LOVING this restaurant, which currently features a prix fixe menu versus their previous buffet selection. We’ve visited for Minnie’s Halloween Dine, Minnie’s Holiday Dine, and even the Disney Junior Play ‘n Dine breakfast, and now we’re taking you along with us to give Minnie’s Springtime Dine a try!
