The Disney World Yacht and Beach Club Resorts’ shared pool, Stormalong Bay, is seeing some changes in both the menu at Hurricane Hanna’s and lots of construction on new Cabanas being added to the area.

Stormalong Bay stalwart Hurricane Hanna’s has had a recent menu update and we couldn’t wait to share it with you!
Disney World has started testing Smart Speakers in select guest rooms at the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. Currently, guests with a Smart Speaker in their guest room will be able to get information including park hours, bus arrival times, the weather, and more from the speakers.

The Smart Speakers are voice activated, and not linked to any personal accounts, including My Disney Experience accounts. No registration or set up is required if you are in a room with a Smart Speaker.

Do you remember our recent trip to the new Market at Ale & Compass Counter Service and grab-and-go location in Disney’s Yacht Club Resort?

Well, that isn’t the only change we can expect in regards to dining at the Yacht Club! First: you may already be aware that Captain’s Grille is currently closed for a refurbishment.
But it seems that the changes will result in much more than your typical refurb. The Grille will reopen with a whole new feel AND a new name! Look for the re-imagined Ale & Compass Restaurant (part of the overall Ale & Compass concept) to present a “gastropub ambience” and offer “New England-inspired comfort food” for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Happy December! We can’t believe that we’re already one full week into the month – there is so much going on with holiday preparation and shopping and baking!

The Walt Disney World Resort theme parks are all decked out for the holidays — and so are the hotels! Don’t forget to make plans to visit the four gingerbread displays – at the Contemporary, Grand Floridian, Beach Club, and BoardWalk Inn! We’ll have a full photo review of all of them for you next week.

At long last! Can you believe it’s been almost a year and I haven’t done a full blog post about Beaches and Cream? Well, rest assured I’ve been to my favorite soda shop a couple of times since the beginning of this food blog, so I’ve got plenty of photos for ya!
