The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort are undergoing a transformation, making them more modern and turning them into Disney Vacation Club cabins. The cabins will include some fun nods to previous Disney World attractions and be quite beautiful. And now it seems that updated DVC cabins will even get a special hotel perk!
Get a good look at these cabins. It may be one of the LAST times you see this log cabin-style building in Disney World! That’s right — it’s the end of an era. The old Cabins at Fort Wilderness are CHANGING, and Disney fans seem to have a LOT of opinions about the new design.

Back in 2023, Disney announced that the Cabins at Fort Wilderness would be getting a makeover. Imagineers have redesigned these spaces to become the Disney Vacation Club Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort (but you don’t have to be a Disney Vacation Club member to book a stay in a new cabin.)

We’ve been keeping up with all the updates Disney has revealed about the new cabins, but what’s going to happen to the old ones? We know Disney will be getting rid of them, so will they be gone for good? Our answer might just be hiding…in the Grand Canyon.

These cabins have been pretty popular among Disney fans. They give you plenty of space, come with a full kitchen, and make you forget you’re living in the middle of a major Florida city. That’s magic! But recently, Disney did something that SHOCKED a lot of people. Remember those classic cabins we conjured up in our minds? They’re about to change.
