FIRST LOOK: Disney World’s Updated Face Mask Policy is Now In Effect

The face mask policy has changed several times at Disney World since the beginning of the global pandemic, and today, it has changed again.

Mask policy has changed again

When Disney World first reopened, face masks were required everywhere and for everyone unless you were eating or drinking while stationary. Then, things shifted to face masks only being required indoors. Masks were briefly removed completely for vaccinated guests (except on transportation), but the indoor requirement was quickly reinstated as case numbers went up in the summer of 2021. Now, Disney World (and Disneyland) has switched things up once again.

The Complete Timeline of Disney World’s Face Mask Policies

We’ve seen A LOT of health and safety guidelines at Disney World change since the parks reopened after their unprecedented closure due to the COVID-19 global pandemic in 2020.

For example, we’ve seen temperature checkpoints removed from park entrances, physical distancing measures reduced throughout the parks and resorts, and more. But, one policy has received quite a few more updates over the past 18 months compared to others — the face mask policy.
