Mask mandates, social distancing, and plexiglass barriers are just some of the health and safety guidelines in place. Many Disney World experiences have been affected by these changes. These changes, like adding plexiglass to certain rides, are designed to make guests safer due to the global pandemic, but they can definitely alter the guest experience on some attractions.Â
You might be on vacation during this holiday season, or just trying to squeeze in a few extra naps to catch up on some much-needed rest, but Disney news never takes a break!

Line for Flight of Passage
While Christmas has come and gone, this is still prime vacation time for many people, as they get an extra week off of work before the New Year. We’re seeing massive crowds and ridiculously long lines for attractions. As we were checking out one of those super-long queues, we happened to spot something on Avatar Flight of Passage that really surprised us!
This week tends to be one of Disney World busiest.
Crowds in Disney’s Animal Kingdom
With many people off work for the holidays and Christmas celebrations wrapped up, it’s the perfect week to take a vacation — except for the fact that lots of other people think so too! We saw BIG crowds over the weekend, and those haven’t stopped yet, with incredibly long lines for attractions and booked-up Disney Park Passes. We stopped by the parks today to see what things are like, and we encountered some ridiculously long lines for Disney rides!
One of the most impressive new lands built in Disney World is Pandora — The World of Avatar.

Between the floating mountains, bioluminescent plants, delicious food, it’s a place you simply MUST visit during your next trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Plus, this land has some of the most unique attractions including the incredible Avatar Flight of Passage. But, today we noticed that one ICONIC item in the ride’s queue was missing!!

Given the recent health and safety updates, some of the most well-known Walt Disney World planning tips have gone out the window.

For instance, arriving at least 45 minutes prior to park opening was highly recommended if you wanted to enjoy popular attractions without waiting too long. Now, given the shorter lines, we recommend coming in later because you can avoid the morning crowds and still enjoy many of the rides. On our recent trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we noticed another interesting post-reopening phenomenon.
With limited capacity and no FastPass+ being two major changes in a reopened Disney World, many have wondered exactly what the impact has been on the average wait time for the many rides and attractions at the four theme parks.

What’s Disney World without Space Mountain, Tower of Terror, and Pirates of the Caribbean? It’s a huge, empty land filled only with Mickey Pretzels and churros.
