It’s the most wonderful time of the year in Disney World to try out all those magical holiday flavors, like gingerbread cookies, peppermint treats, and more, and now we’re here with two more special treats!

We’ve seen desserts all over the place, from delicious options at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party to seasonal specialties at the Disney Resorts. There are so many places to find a snack this holiday season, and now we’re heading to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter to try out another one!
You might think that finding plant-based eats in Disney World is hard, but you could be wrong.
Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter
We’re seeing more plant-based options added to Disney World menus all the time! From plant-based Mickey waffles to plant-based Totchos to the Toasted “Lobster” Roll in Hollywood Studios, there are several snacks and meals that Disney World’s vegan guests can enjoy. Now we’re trying out even MORE plant-based options from Scat Cat’s Club at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter!
The smell of freshly made beignets, the sight of wrought-iron fenced balconies, and the sound of horse hooves pulling a carriage — what comes to mind? New Orleans? Not quite — we’re still in Disney World!
Port Orleans French Quarter Resort
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort French Quarter is one of spots themed after the popular tourist destination and its surrounding areas (the other being Disney’s Port Orleans Resort Riverside). Port Orleans French Quarter is inspired by the sights and sounds of the New Orleans Jazz scene and features a Mardi Gras-themed pool, Jazz club, and even horse-drawn carriage rides! If you’ve ever wondered what the rooms look like inside this resort, you’re in luck — we’re taking you on a room tour of Disney’s Port Orleans Resort French Quarter!
Take a breath. Imagine for a second that the computer, phone, etc. in front of you has disappeared. You find yourself on Main Street, U.S.A.. Around you, you can hear the sound of guests talking and laughing. In the distance, you hear some of the background music for this beautiful spot. And then it hits you — the distinct and gorgeous voices of the Dapper Dans reach your ears and your heart and your soul are filled with joy. LIVE MUSIC folks. Sometimes there’s just nothing better than live music.

With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, red and pink treats are arriving all over Disney Parks, and naturally we ✨have✨ to try all of them. And you know what we found today? Let’s just say it involves fluffy beignets and a LOT of cinnamon.
Change is something that has become synonymous with Disney World over the years and more particularly since the COVID-19 pandemic. The changes with FastPasses+, entertainment, and extra magic hours had some people wondering if a trip to Disney World was even worth it anymore.

Speaking of Extra Magic Hours, in 2021, Disney World replaced the hotel perk with Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours. If you are unfamiliar with Extra Magic Hours, they were first implemented to allow guests staying at a Disney Hotel to either gain early access or stay later in the theme parks. The idea is still the same, but a bit simpler with Early Theme Park Entry allowing guests to enter any of the parks 30 minutes early every day to get a head start. Lots of things have changed recently at Disney World. Some hotels are set to reopen soon, maskless photos can be taken outdoors, and we’ve even seen changes made when it comes to self-serve drink stations.

But, when it comes to food, there’s still quite a bit that is different from how things were prior to the park closures. Some fan-favorite restaurants are still closed and quite a lot of food hasn’t returned to the parks and hotels. So, today we’re going down our list and sharing some of those food items that are still missing from Disney World so you can plan ahead for your next trip (and not be SEVERELY disappointed when you find that *spoiler alert* beignets are not available from Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter ðŸ˜).
While we already think Disney’s Port Orleans Resort is one of the most romantic places to stay during a Disney World trip, it seems Riverside and French Quarter are stepping up their game even more for Valentine’s Day!

We’re picturing our younger selves decked out in stirrup pants, oversized shirts, and of course ALL THE MOOD RINGS! During a recent visit to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort, we were transported STRAIGHT back to our youth when we spotted mood-changing jewelry, reminiscent of the ones that were TOTALLY popular in the 90s!
