Souvenirs are all part of the Disney World experience. You walk into the Emporium on Main Street USA, take one look at the colorfully stocked shelves, and before you know it your arms are full of 5 stuffed animals, 2 mugs, and a Spirit Jersey, and you’re standing there wondering “How did this even happen?”

Yup, it’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of buying souvenirs during your Disney trip. But as your friends here at DFB, we’re gonna let you in on the souvenirs you should totally stay away from and save a bit of that extra cha-ching in your pocket for something a little more worth it (and maybe even an extra snack or two).
If you’ve been to Disney World before, you know that you go through security when you arrive at the parks.

The check usually includes a walk through an advanced scanning device, and then you’re on your merry way. They’re looking out for prohibited items like weapons, pyrotechnics, and even selfie sticks. However, sometimes items that are totally fine to have in the parks will set off the scanners, and then you’ll be subjected to a very thorough bag check! Here are some of the super random items that have caused us problems in the past.

Have you noticed those portable charger stations around Disney? Ever wondered how they work?
FuelRods can be found all around the parks!
These stations are for FuelRods, a super easy way to ensure your phone stays fully charged throughout those long days in the parks! Nowadays you pretty much have to be on your phone at Disney Parks to use Genie+ and Mobile Order, or even if you’re just taking pictures and videos, which can quickly drain your battery. A portable charger is a must, and FuelRods are a convenient choice!

There is a TON of planning involved, and a lot of that planning and more happens on your smartphone. From unlocking your Disney hotel room door, to checking the latest park showtimes, to even ordering your food and checking out at merch locations — you’re going to need your phone. And, that means your phone’s battery could get easily drained. There are a few different ways you can remedy this, and today we’re testing one out!
If you’re a FuelRod user, you may know the program has gone through a lot of changes.
FuelRod machine
FuelRods are portable chargers for your electronics. They comes in a little kit with plenty of cables to match most Apple iOS or Android devices. You charge your phone up and when the FuelRod dies, you can swap it out at any FuelRod station. Sounds simple, right?
