Skimbaco Food showcases a Curried Carrot and Apple Soup recipe from the Enchanted Garden on the Disney Dream cruise ship.

Guest Review: Babycakes NYC Cupcakes at Disney World

Thanks to Leigh Caldwell for putting together this great review of Babycakes NYC, Disney World’s newest cupcake shop, which opened in Downtown Disney this weekend. Leigh writes about Walt Disney World and theme parks in general on her site, ThemeParkMom.com, and for AOL’s travel blog, Gadling.com.

My love of all things cupcake is pretty well documented online and on Twitter, so of course I was excited to hear that a branch of Babycakes NYC had opened at the Downtown Disney Marketplace.

Atmosphere
Babycakes NYC is a vegan bakery on New York’s Lower East Side. A downtown L.A. outpost opened recently, and now a third outpost has appeared at Walt Disney World.

Gluten Free Snacks at Main Street Bakery

Update: Disney is no longer offering Divvies. They are currently offering bakery items from the Enjoy Life and OMG Manufacturers along with Rocky Mountain Popcorn, and Surf Sweets Jelly Beans throughout the Parks and Resorts.

Just came across this display of specialty diet items in the Main Street Bakery today! It’s new to me, so I thought I’d share. For more great info and resources for dining gluten-free in Disney World and Disneyland, check out our Gluten-Free Resources pages!

The first thing to catch my eye was the caramel popcorn! It looked deeeeelicious! All of these products seem to be from the same brands — French Meadow Bakery and Divvies. Has anyone sampled these brands? How are they? Any preference?

Gluten Free and Sugar Free Cookies at Disney World

Just wanted to quickly share this great news. Minnie’s Bake Shop, a new line of baked goods being sold at Disney parks stores, is now selling family-size packages of Gluten Free and Sugar Free cookies.

This is in addition to some freshly-baked gluten free and sugar free items I found for sale at several bakeries (including the Marketplace in Disney’s Beach Club Resort) throughout the Disney World parks.

Disney parks have long been ahead of the curve in anticipating guests’ needs, and ensuring a wealth of gluten-free and sugar-free options is just the beginning.
