Cheerio! And warm tidings from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. We’ve had SO many reader requests for a re-review of this fun offering! Far be it from us to deny that desire!
There are so many foodie things we love about this resort, like the Chicken and Waffles at the Grand Floridian Cafe or the all-new Beauty and the Beast themed lounge, Enchanted Rose (check out our full review HERE!).
But recently we decided it was time for a spot of tea, so we stopped in to the Garden View Tea Room!
is located at the Grand Floridian Resort just a Monorail ride away from Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and Polynesian Village Resort. (And soon — possibly via walkway from Magic Kingdom!)
This Victorian-inspired restaurant serves table service eats for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with identical breakfast and lunch menus resulting in some truly epic brunch bites. We’re talking a Buttermilk Chicken and Waffle, an Eggs Benedict Flight, and more. Click here to see why brunch is brilliant at Grand Floridian Cafe!
But on this visit, we’re grabbing dinner. The dinner menu here is a separate entity from breakfast and lunch, but some popular ‘brunch’ items do appear at dinner, too! The Lobster ‘Thermidor’ Burger is available all day (see that review here!), as is the Miso-Glazed Salmon (reviewed below!). The Artisan-Made Spinach-Ricotta Ravioli is a favorite that’s good to go for three meals a day (more on that below, too!), and the Buttermilk Fried Chicken makes a reprise at dinner (but without the waffle).
The point is: Grand Floridian Cafe’s got your tastebuds’ backs all day long! 😉 So let’s see how dinner stacks up and whether Grand Floridian Cafe is good for more than just a fabulous brunch.
The atmosphere of Grand Floridian Cafe echos the Victorian tones of the entire Resort. [Read more…]
We spent some time visiting the Grand Floridan and Polynesian Village Resorts while on our way to the Magic Kingdom, and spotted some menu updates for you!
After enjoying a Lapu Lapu at the recently renovated Tambu Lounge we found some menu updates at Kona Island.
We took a Monorail tour of the Magic Kingdom resorts to find all that’s new for you! We started out in the Contemporary Resort.
We let you know earlier about the Latte Art at Contemporary Grounds. If you’re having a latte this is a fun way to add a smile to your cup of coffee.

Please join us for dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe!
The Grand Floridian Cafe doesn’t garner the headlines of the Grand Floridian Resort’s signature restaurants — Narcoossee’s and Citricos — or the AAA 5 Diamond experience, Victoria and Albert’s. And, of course, there is always the unique-to-the-Grand-Floridian experience of Afternoon Tea in the Garden View Tea Room. And though 1900 Park Fare, like the Grand Floridian Cafe, is also a 1-Credit Table Service restaurant on the Disney Dining Plan, it’s better known for being a character meal and buffet option.
The Grand Floridian Cafe offers guests an opportunity to spend some time at Disney World’s flagship resort at a more modest price point than its counterpart table service restaurants. But since it tends to get a bit overshadowed by the other options (even though we think it’s a hidden gem), we’re back for a visit to take a look around and explore the current dinner offerings at the Grand Floridian Cafe.
It’s quite a “grand” stroll through the entire lobby to find the Grand Floridian Cafe.
Head left at the back of the lobby, pass one of the merchandise shops, and its entrance is one of the last things you’ll see before your next step is outside. [Read more…]

A new dining opportunity is coming to Narcoossee’s, one of the signature restaurants at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.
A hallmark of Narcoossee’s is the wonderful views it offers of Seven Seas Lagoon, which makes it known as an especially terrific option if you book your Advance Dining Reservation for dinner in coordination with a showtime of Wishes — the Magic Kingdom Fireworks spectacular.
Later this fall, Narcoossee’s will be making the most of its unique setting in the daytime with the new Waterfront Brunch, which will be offered on Sunday mornings beginning November 22, 2015 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The meal will begin with a specialty beverage of either champagne, a Mimosa, or a signature Bloody Mary, while a smoothie option will be available for guests under 21.
Next, a shared basket of pastries will include house-made chocolate and traditional croissants alongside muffins, Danish pastries, and pecan sticky buns, all served with Vermont cultured butter and seasonal jam.
Guests will then choose from an appetizer selection including Onion Soup Gratinee, Shrimp and Grits, Seafood Charcuterie, an Artisanal Cheese Selection or a Romaine Salad. Entree choices will include Lobster Eggs Benedict, Brioche French Toast, Chicken and Waffles, Freshly Caught Seasonal Fish, and Steak and Eggs (among others). Brunch will end with a dessert trio.
