Fourth of July Themed Snacks at Walt Disney World

Thanks to Rikki Niblett of the Be Our Guest podcast for spotting these decorative treats commemorating our nation’s upcoming holiday!

While the wonderful World of Disney can be absolutely jam-packed over the Fourth of July holiday weekend, grabbing one of these treats might help the crowd-packed park seem just a bit more sweet. Or the sugar high will at least give you a boost for the next line that you encounter. 😉

Dining Discount Offered at Disney World and Disneyland

The very popular voucher for 25 percent off dining at select quick-service restaurants has returned!

Valid at select quick-service restaurants and requiring the purchase of any entree, the voucher will be available at Walt Disney World and Disneyland from April 17-23, 2011.

Print your voucher out or get one from the WDW Resort Times Guide. They’ll also be available on select merchandise receipts or at the bottom of receipts from some resort quick-service locations. Disneyland visitors will find the voucher on the Entertainment Times Guide or on select merchandise receipts.

Welcome to the first Disney Food Post Round-Up of December 2010!! As always, we’ll begin with the news:

Don’t forget to vote in our DFB Choice Awards! The awards have been set up so that Disney Food Blog readers can help future Disney-trippers by letting their favorite restaurants be known! You can vote through December 22nd.
Disney’s launched its own snack chip line in the parks!
Take a look at some new Le Cellier menu items.
The Coke Freestyle Machine, featuring 106 flavors, is now at WDW’s Downtown Disney movie theater.
Disney World Annual Passholders can get a free (small) bag of Karamell Kuche caramel corn from December 4-11! Just show a valid photo ID with your Annual Pass to get the treat.

Also, I’d like to share with you a very special holiday request from a very special colleague. I had the chance to chat with Chef Robert Getchell from Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Sanaa Restaurant recently about the holiday menus that are available at Walt Disney World restaurants this year!

Here are the details on holiday dining in Disney restaurants from Chef Getchell:

Most restaurants will offer their whole regular menu, or a slightly limited version of their regular menu, along with a “special for the day.” Specials will be themed to each restaurant, but at the same time will be very familiar to the guests as a traditional family meal.

For example, Sanaa will be offering an African-spiced turkey breast, dark meat gravy, cranberry and dry cherry chutney, and butternut squash as our special for holiday dining.

Other examples of holiday menu items include an Oak rotisserie turkey dish at California Grill; and a smoked turkey breast with sage butter, smokey butternut squash, and [Read more…]

Yep — Christmas has come to Disney World! It showed up around Wednesday of last week and hasn’t shown any signs of slowing!

Lucky for you and me, my Mom and Dad are in Disney World this week and I’ve been getting a steady feed of photos sent to the coffer each day!

So here are some of the Christmas- and holiday-themed goodies you can enjoy in Walt Disney World this season. (By they way, this is by no means an extensive list; I’ll be heading to WDW in early December to capture even more holiday snacks on camera as they come available.
