food IS a theme park
Disney World rides seem to be shutting down for refurbishment left and right.
We want to make sure you are prepared for your upcoming vacation, so here’s a look at what attractions will be closed in December 2024.
Disney World is extending Thanksgiving!
The holiday season is seemingly getting busier and busier at Disney World each year, with the months around Thanksgiving and Christmas becoming the resort’s most crowded and popular time on the calendar. Thanksgiving week 2024 looks like it will be no exception, and Disney is taking a proactive approach to theme park hours in response.
Lightning Lane Premier Pass has reached a MILESTONE!
When Disney released the Lightning Lane Premier Pass in October, reactions were divided. While some welcomed the newest level of Lightning Lane as a welcome way to skip the lines at the theme parks, others bemoaned the high prices and yet another level of pre-planning. It seems that for now anyway, the debate has been settled by Walt Disney World guests voting with their wallets.
The holiday season may have arrived right after Halloween in Disney World, but it’s in FULL swing right now ahead of the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays.
That means ALL the holiday decorations have gone up, the Christmas trees are shining bright in the lobbies of Disney World hotels, and holiday snacks are literally turning up everywhere. But you know us — we love a good challenge, so once again, this year, we’re going to try to eat ALL the holiday snacks we can get our hands on. For this round, we’re hitting up Disney’s Hollywood Studios to get you reviews of EVERYTHING you should — or should not — eat in Disney World this holiday season. Â
It’s been a great week in Disney World, especially when it comes to food.
Mostly, we’re just excited that we finally got the menus for the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays, which starts on November 29th — and yes, we’ll be running around EPCOT all day eating EVERYTHING. We also tried some new menu items at Sci-Fi Dine In in Hollywood Studios. We also spent some time researching Disney World restaurant menus, and we’ve got some changes to tell you about.
Another Disney World attraction will be temporarily closing SOON!
Disney closes rides and attractions from time to time for short periods so they can conduct refurbishments. These refurbishments are often for routine maintenance, but sometimes changes are also made. We keep track of the big closures happening around the parks, and there’s a NEW one you should know about if you’re planning a trip to Magic Kingdom in the coming month.
Okay, so not EVERYTHING goes according to plan in Disney World.
We’ve seen everything from ride evacuations to extended ride closures to characters having funny “oops” moments. Sometimes we even see a few funny things happen while we’re riding rides and something goes wrong. We’ll also NEVER forget plant Donald (he’s something of a legend here at DFB now). But last night, Disney’s Hollywood Studios was having some ISSUES, and we just had to share.
Disney World is always changing, which, while exciting, can also mean some bittersweet moments when some of our favorite attractions close down to make way for the new.
There is a lot coming to Disney World in the coming years, so we wanted to round up the permanent closures that we are expecting Disney World to announce next year!
2025 is only a few months away, but we already know there’s a lot of change coming to Disney World this next year.
There are construction projects beginning in every single Disney World park (unless some get pushed to 2026, which is always a possibility), Test Track will be reopening with its new reimagined theme sometime in 2025, and of course, that’s not counting the changes that haven’t been announced yet (and these days it feels like Disney almost always has an announcement up their sleeve). But all of these changes don’t necessarily mean we’ll see MORE crowds in the Disney World parks — here’s why we think we could see FEWER crowds in Disney World in 2025.
There is nothing more magical than starting your day with a Mickey waffle!
While Mickey waffles are an iconic Disney World staple and a popular way to start the day, Mickey waffles are not sold everywhere, and to make it even harder, they are only sold at specific times during the day. So, where can you get these delicious golden breakfast staples? Well, we are happy you asked! We compiled a guide to EVERY PLACE where you can get Mickey waffles at Disney World!
