Welcome back, DFB friends! We’re here with another What’s New at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
And, we’ve got plenty of updates to share with you! So, what are you waiting for? Let’s dive right on in!
UPDATE! The Disney Wine and Dine 10K is now sold out. Other races remain available.Â
runDisney is one of the many ways you can celebrate your love for Disney! With events ranging from Half-Marathons to Kids’ Runs, there’s a way for everyone to run (or walk) around the parks!
After quite a few virtual runs, runDisney is back and we’ve got some great news for you!
In case you missed it, Disney dropped a TON of holiday news today!
Today, Disney announced that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party would be replaced with a new after hours event called Disney Very Merriest After Hours, the ICONIC gingerbread houses are returning to Disney World Resorts, tons of entertainment is coming back to the parks, and holiday ride overlays are returning — just to name a few. But with all of these announcements, we still have a few questions about what the holidays will look like in Disney World, especially regarding fireworks in Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
Halloween is only three months away and we are counting down the days!
The Disney After Hours BOO BASH begins on August 10, 2021, and we have been wondering when a favorite Halloween character dining experience would be back. Today we got an answer and our little Halloween hearts are filled with excitement.
If you’re headed to Disney World for the holidays this year, there will be plenty to do!
Not only is there a brand new after hours event that has replaced Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, but the famous resort gingerbread displays are back, AND there are holidays projections in the parks! Also, Disney released dates for the Festival of the Holidays in EPCOT, but now we’ve got an exciting announcement about the big man himself!
Hello, DFB Friends! A LOT is going on with Disney World restaurants right now!
And while we’re busy indulging in all the Flavors of Florida food, we’re also checking out the latest snacks at the parks, and getting excited about the upcoming EPCOT Food and Wine Festival (and the CHHHEEESSE crawl). But we’re also keeping up with all the menu changes at Disney World restaurants!
It’s officially been one year since Disney World reopened!
Over the past year, things have changed drastically at Disney World! We’ve seen the end of temperature checks, the end of mask requirements in most situations, and the end of social distancing. We’re also seeing more people in the parks as both entertainment and fireworks begin to resume.
Character cavalcades are one of our favorite new things that Disney World has added to the parks since reopening.
We love the surprise element of not knowing which characters we might see next and how they just randomly turn up. And they are just SO much fun! And we’ve even got a new one to look forward to for Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration that starts later this year!
Here at DFB, we understand that some of our readers are on special diets and can’t always eat the things we eat at Disney World.
But we want to help you in choosing some of the best food that you CAN eat, so we’re putting together some lists to help you choose.
UPDATE: A few days ago we called Disney’s VIP Tour phone line and spoke with a Cast Member. The Cast Member we spoke to at that point informed us that that Boarding Groups for Rise of the Resistance were not included in VIP Tours and guests would still need to try and sign up for them during the day. On July 16th, however, we spoke with another Cast Member and they stated that a single ride on Rise of the Resistance is included in the VIP Tours without the need to obtain a Boarding Group. On October 14th a VIP Tours Cast Member told us that the tour WILL include a ride on Rise of the Resistance, meaning if you’re on the tour, you can bypass the line for one ride. We’ll continue to look for more updates.
Until recently, the only way to get on the Rise of the Resistance ride in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios was to get a boarding pass. And that could be really difficult!
Back when the ride used a virtual queue, we found some good best tips and tricks to get a Boarding Group, but there was still no guarantee that you’d be able to snag a boarding group to ride the attraction. Now, Rise of the Resistance uses a normal queue instead, and in order to ride you need to physically wait in line, which can sometimes take a VERY long time.
