We’ve waited for what seems like FOREVER for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to open at Disney World, and now, we’re ALMOST THERE. In June 2020, Disney announced that the water-based ride Splash Mountain would close to be rethemed into an attraction inspired by the Disney animated film, The Princess and the Frog. Disney has shared that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will pick up the story of The Princess and the Frog “after the final kiss, and join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure – featuring some of the powerful music from the film – as they prepare for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance.”

Yes, that’s right. If you’re new around here, my name is Kayleigh, and I used to work at the Haunted Mansion at Disney World. I always tell people that writing for the iconic Disney Food Blog is the best job I’ve ever had, but let’s be honest. It’s a tie between this job and my time at the Mansion. I was a Disney College Program participant in the fall of 2022, so I spend a LOT of my time missing Disney World and haunting the halls of the Spooky Haus. It’s no secret we’re BIG fans of the food in all the parks at Disney World.

But Disney’s Hollywood Studios has some delicious snacks that we particularly care to enjoy. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has delicious ronto wraps, Toy Story Land has fun “totchos” and pop tarts, plus so much more. But there is one snack cart that we’ve been worried about for a while now, and clearly, we had good reason to be!

We’ve been having a great week here at DFB, especially with all the details we just got about Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (it’s never too early to get excited about Halloween, y’all).

This Disney World Ride Closure STILL Has No End in Sight

We know that Disney closes rides for refurbishment for good reasons.

Safety is paramount on theme park rides, so regular refurbishments to double-check everything is working properly are very important, plus, a little love and updating go a long way. But sometimes, we have to wonder just what they are doing that takes them SO long and why the ride is closed for many months. One Disney World ride has been closed for five months now, and we’re starting to wonder if there’s an end in sight.

NEWS: One of Our Favorite Disney World Hotel Pools Has Unexpectedly CLOSED

We hate to be the bearer of bad pool news, but here we are. 😞

Doubloon Lagoon at Port Orleans — French Quarter is one of our FAVORITE pools on Disney World property. It’s so much fun, with a  a 51-foot long water slide that looks like a sea serpent, a whirlpool spa, and Mardi Gras decorations. The pool closed back in January for a lengthy refurbishment and stayed closed through April 2024. Well, the pool is closed again.

Disney Is REDUCING Marvel Content. Here’s Why That Might Be a GOOD THING.

We just got some HUGE updates at Disney’s second earnings call for fiscal 2024.

The call, which was held on May 7th, revealed a lot of details about the financial state of The Walt Disney Company, including how the company’s streaming business is doing, how the parks are doing, and even insight as to what is happening inside the film studios. Disney CEO Bob Iger has made it a priority in 2024 to bring quality and creativity back to Disney’s studios, and we now have an update on how that is going. The problem? One of the solutions is a bittersweet one.
