Donald Duck first appeared on-screen nearly 90 (!!!) years ago, on June 9th, 1934. Disney is partnering with a local cafe in Japan and is celebrating in a BIG way this year. OH MY CAFE — a popup cafe in Shinjuku that licenses to use Disney characters — is hosting a limited-time experience in celebration of Donald’s 90th birthday. Here’s what you need to know!

The park is about to celebrate its 35th anniversary, an exclusive merchandise event is coming soon, and we’ve recently discovered some new favorite eats, too. But, while you’re doing your planning, you might want to make sure you’re not visiting Hollywood Studios on this particular date.

When we step into the parks, we feel like we’re home. Now, it’s no accident that Disney has created the parks so perfectly that they make us feel that way. As much as we want to truly believe it’s all in the magic (which we’re convinced is real), it is also very much in the marketing. Disney doesn’t do anything on accident. The Imagineers, officials, and even Cast Members design the parks to be exactly what we want and need them to be so we feel at home (and spend all our money). But have you ever considered that one of our LEAST favorite parts of the parks is actually there completely on purpose?

Many of these attractions, restaurants, and even entire parks have been closed for an extended period of time with no reopening date in sight. However, while one restaurant has been closed for its intended purpose for several years now, it occasionally reopens as a completely different venue. Now, on May 1st, we’ll once again see it reopen but NOT as a restaurant.
Y’all, I have to admit it. It’s true. When I visit Disney World, sometimes I SKIP Magic Kingdom.

Before you think I’m a monster who hates fireworks and princesses and castles and joy, please let me explain! I promise I have some pretty good reasons for skipping this magical park, and by the time you finish reading this, who knows? You might even be convinced to try it out on your next trip. Â
Disney World is only a few hours away from white sandy beaches, fresh sea breezes, and crashing waves. But you don’t have to leave Disney World to find good seafood.

Even though it’s not New England, you can still find delicious seafood throughout the Florida parks. In each park and in Disney Springs, you can grab tasty fish, shrimp, lobster, and more. You might think that the best seafood would come from the table-service locations that offer it, but trust us when we say that one counter-service (aka fast food) restaurant in Magic Kingdom is definitely worth the visit!
